The cabin itself was great and the convict lake/valley truly is spectacular, particularly during fall colors while we were... there. BUT BEWARE: this resort apparently also hosts weddings and receptions and they go from mid afternoon until 10pm. This wasnot disclosed to us before booking. We were in the second farthest cabin out (Rainbow #2) and with all the windows and doorsshut we could still here the wedding DJ through the walls two out of the three nights we were there. Stayed in the campground. Only bad part is the fire log bundles have massive industrial staples in them that hold the plastic... rope handles. I don't want to burn the plastic so it's hard to remove it before it goes in the fire. Also, it's checks or cashonly to pay for anything in the camp grounds. And bears. There are bears here. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, the bears out herebreaking into everything. Did not know that the camp ground and the resort are separate. We stayed at the Convict Lake Resort during our elopement week. Everyone at Convict Lake was very accommodating and welcoming... (even let us check into our cabins early so we could start getting ready for our ceremony). Our wedding dinner was at theRestaurant, where they gave us the entire back room. Great service and food! We stayed in the Morrison Cabin and had a great time. There's a bar & restaurant and a cute little store that sells souvenirs,... beer, wine, snacks, etc.. there's also a grassy hangout spot with wedding venue accommodations and gorgeous mountain views! Thehorseback ride to Convict Lake was fun for riders of all levels. The ride is a bit physical so it might not be best forsensitive groups. Lots of deer roaming around and only a 2 minute drive to Convict Lake. Read more
We enjoyed our time at the Convict Lake Resort. We had the Brook Cabin. It was nice and cozy. The cabin was equipped with a gas... grill and a decent size fridge. The kitchen came fully equipped. The resort has a store that has pretty much everything youcould need. There’s a food truck type grill as well as a really nice restaurant. This place is great. There is definitely somewildlife. We were warned of bears. The dear are not afraid of people either. All of the staff we dealt with were nice andhelpful. Convict Lake resort is an excellent cabin resort with so many great places to visit nearby. I hope to stay here again. Read more
