The Lakefront Restaurant is a truly special place. Josh, the manager, has put in a wonderful team. You feel transported to a... special place while dining there. We have been there several times and we are never disappointed! The food is out of thisworld, the wine--watched over carefully by sommelier Josh - is spectacular and to top it off the ambiance is so warm andinviting. Josh watches over this restaurant with so much care and attention and it really shows! He has taken this restaurant toa different level and we are so happy to have this as a special option in Mammoth. Kudos to Josh and your staff! Read more

Amazing food and great service. Small intimate dining room. Small menu with great plates. I had the short rib, which was cooked... to perfection. My wife had the trout which also amazing with crispy skin. This place is in a great location right on a lake.Beautiful surroundings. We will return again! Read more

Absolutely gorgeous! First of all we took a drink in a cocoon room and hopefully we've had the chance to have a dinner in the... restaurant. The cooking of the lamb as a starter is worthy of the finest restaurants. The elk médaillons are absolutelyperfects. Furthermore, the chef combines flavors and high quality products and the choice of wines is made with finesse. It is adelight for the taste buds. Thank you for this moment of happiness Read more

Took my family here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and they did not disappoint. The setting was perfect as it was snowing in... April and we had the center table facing the widows that oversee the (frozen) lake. The duck was the star of the evening but theyou can’t go wrong with the short rib either. The pot de crème and lava cake brought it home. This place will definitely beon our list of restaurants to visit when we annual spring break in Mammoth. Read more

WOW WOW WOW!!! We really lucked out finding the Lakefront through a Google Maps search while staying up in Mammoth Lakes. We... were hungry and wanted something unique for dinner. We arrived to Tamarack Lodge an hour before the restaurant opened, and allthat night's bookings were already taken. The front desk staff was friendly and gracious, they built a nice fire in the hugelodge fireplace and invited us to stay awhile (the wind was howling outside across the lake!). We decided to just relax andenjoy the comfortable atmosphere. Eventually, the lodge lobby bar opened and we enjoyed great drinks (wonderful domestic andinternational wine selections). After about an hour wait, they let us know there had been a cancellation in the Lakefront andwe were seated for dinner! EVERYTHING about the meal was perfect - gracious and knowledgeable servers, beautiful view of thelake and trees, delicious and unique meal. All our servers were friendly and attentive without being intrusive (perfecttiming). I think my favorite food of the meal was the asparagus bisque soup, but honestly everything we ordered was amazing.Even the butter with the fresh warm bread was unusual (salty and sweet). I had the berkshire pork chop with blueberry/gingersauce, my husband had the rock sugar braised short rib. Both were cooked to perfection, had interesting flavors, and werebeautiful to look at. There is something on the menu for adventurous eaters, as well as for non-meat eaters too. My onlyregret was that I just couldn't manage to try the deserts. I'm positive they would have been just as delicious as the entiremeal. We were never rushed, I felt we could have stayed longer if we had wanted to even though it was a very small place with awaiting list of reservations. We left feeling relaxed, content, well-cared for, and well fed too. A wonderful dining experienceand we will most definitely be back the next time we are in Mammoth! Thank you to all for the great experience. Read more

Food selection was wonderful. I had the mushroom soup and rainbow trout. Both tasted amazing and presentation was excellent.... Service seemed a bit understaffed but our waiter was great and very knowledgeable. I'd definitely come here again. Read more

We came here for lunch and the food was so delicious (especially the soup), that we just had to return for dinner. Dinner was... even more delicious... Paired with incredible ambience, including a cozy, intimate dining room, local piano player with storiesall evening, and artisan cocktails. We would travel to Mammoth just to come to this restaurant again. Highly recommend! Read more
