We had the Honduran Carne Asada and it was excellent. The steak, refried beans, vegetables were nicely seasoned. The soft... tortillas they served on the side were very warm and tasty. We also had a drink that was a mixture of cucumber water andlemonade which was delicious. What also made the food and drink so good were the fresh ingredients. Plus, the owners were veryfriendly and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the LBI area. Read more

Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was good, the ambiance pleasant and inviting. But the highlight was the food. We... started with nacho chips with 2 intriguing alternatives to salsa. I had the carne asada Honduran style, it was served with ricebeans, avocado slices, salsa, lime and queso fresco. Excellent. My wife had papusas and a baleada. Both were excellent. Theportions were large and the prices ridiculously low. So low that I felt compelled to leave a 35% tip. . Read more

They must have changed owners or something because a year ago the food was fantastic. Let's discuss...... Our afternoon... started with chips and some kind of sauce. No salsa. But hey, every place is different. Water? Warm. Little to no ice. (Askedfor seltzer and I got a strange look) Now to the food. I ordered the same dish I had last time. Brazeraso poblano. This is adish with a variety of grilled meats including chicken, beef, chorizo, sausage and onions and peppers. Last time, this wasamazing. This time, cold, gristle-laden beef, no sausage, a pork chop that could have been used as a hammer, and three, splithot dogs that were barely cooked and flaccid. Yes, hot dogs. And not even good hot dogs. When I enquired about the missingchorizo, the waitress said they forgot only to bring out something that looked and tasted like low-grade kielbasa. My son'schimichanga was covered with cheese sauce from a can (I won't say it was Velveeta because that would be an insult to the goodfolks at Kraft Foods). The beans were cold, the rice was terrible and overall the service was such that my daughter asked ifshe could go get her own drink because the wait staff (one person) was MIA. I would have gained more satisfaction burning the$100 bill I spent, simply because it would have generated heat. Read more

Firstly, let me say that as a fellow Mexican, I get very excited eating at mexican restaurants that taste just like home.... Manahawkin is growing in diversity more & more each day, & this restaurant is KILLING IT in the kitchen!!!! Secondly, everythingis freshly made, I had one of the best & freshest nopal I?ve ever tasted, just like I would in Mexico! & Thirdly, the chef/cookhimself was going around asking everyone how the food was, I adored this. My boyfriend loves Mexican culture especially thefood, & we know we will definitely be here many more times in the future! Thank you! Read more

It was my first time trying Tacos de Birria and let me just say that I am NOT disappointed. Everything about my meal was... satisfying and delicious, no complaints. The meat was juicy and tender, while the consume was the perfect broth for mytacos. The location is unfortunately a bit blocked by Maneras, but DONT MISS OUT!! It?s amazing, I will be recommending all myfriends here. Read more

Tried Sareli's for some take-out comfort food. I ordered nachos with chicken and a chicken burrito. Both tasted good and were... made using fresh ingredients. I often judge a Mexican restaurant by its nachos. I have found that all Mexican restaurants'nachos are unique. Sareli's nachos were enjoyable. There was a nice big portion (not huge) and good ratios of ingredients. Theonly thing that disturbed me is that they came in a styrofoam take-out container that was clearly used to heat up the nachos atsome point in there preparation because the food was clearly melted into the styrofoam. While I am aware that SOME specialstyrofoam is microwave safe, most is not. This was caused some concern. The burrito was tasty and nicely sized. Overall, it wasa pretty good Mexican food take-out experience. Read more

We went here thinking it was the pretty highly rated Tortilleria Rancha Grande, which shares the same address and phone number.... Figured we?d try it anyway when we got there despite the weird name change. I sincerely hope these are not supposed to be thesame restaurant because if they are, people in the area have never had good or even ok Mexican food, ever. Super casual, whichis fine/great, but no one came to our table for a while. One basket of chips for 6 of us with no refills and and it took wellover 45 minutes for our food to come out. Guac app was eh, with guac having nothing but avocado-barely any onion, no salt, pepper, lemon/lime. When the food did come out, 3 of the 6 orders were totally wrong?including just asking for a simple taco fora kid?and my fajita was...not a fajita at all. It was some chicken mixed with only red peppers on a plate with bagged shreddedcheese on top with some rice and kidney beans. Tortillas came out later and were hard as a rock. No pico, no sour cream, noguacamole, no green peppers, no sizzle. The burrito came full of lettuce despite a request for none (no sour cream even thoughthat was requested) and a salad full of rice and little else. Molcajete looked cool and sauce had good flavor but meat was allvery over-cooked. Asked for the right taco for the kid and was brought out a plate with the same chicken/cheese mound as myfajita..not in a taco. Don?t know what happened to the Tortilleria with the good reviews but this is not it. Read more
