Bought a couple of bowls from Playa Bowls. I have an account with Playa and am a frequent customer. The girl working there... complained when I took a few extra paper napkins from the counter. Not in a mean/nasty way but it's just paper napkins. Said toask next time to take napkins. Don't think there will be a next time at that location or maybe any location. Read more

First of all, the place was impressively cute. The walls are painted with large and lively beach-inspired illustrations, and the... menu is easy to read with its color coding and large print. There's a spacey and clean bathroom available to customers in theback, and there are little tables along the wall to dine at if you so desire. Now, for the food! The prices may seem dauntingat first ($11-12 for what's basically a bowl of fruit and granola?!), but rest assured - this bowl is a full, refreshing meal(bigger than you think), and it's not just some smoothie with toppings; it's a layered dish with your chosen thick, creamy-icybase at the bottom, a lot of granola in the middle, and a generous (and actually arrayed) array of bite-size fruits and otherchosen toppings on top. It may be tough to mix it all up, but I consider this a good thing because it just goes to show how fullthat bowl is. They really give you your money's worth. And it's all natural and fresh and made right there behind the counter,so no complaints about the food here. The service is wonderful, too! The people behind the counter may look young, but you cantell they have experience. They're kind, accommodating, and helpful. My sister asked if she could tailor her bowl and got anencouraging yes. We asked for recommendations and the cashier was ready with good choices. I came back in after we left with ourorders to ask for 2 glasses of water, and I got them in cups with lids and ice, and was asked if I wanted straws or not. (I saidno thanks. Do you really need a straw? I'm talking to you readers here. Do you really?) Anyway, I had a marvelous experienceoverall. My only complaint, if I have to have one for a balanced review, is that you may have to ask them to speak up behind thecounter. It can get loud with the fans buzzing and blenders etc. Read more

I love playa bowls! They are so refreshing and such healthy snack. And moving south Jersey I was so happy there?s one near by.... As we know they are not cheap, they?re quite expensive and I don?t mind paying for it once in a while. Anyway, I?ve been here acouple of times, and both times ordered like 4 bowls. The last time I tried the smoothie and got 3 other bowls. Bowls were good,nothing bad to say. But the smoothie... we plainly asked for a banana strawberry smoothie with almond milk and vanilla protein.I don?t know what ratios they use but it did not taste good at all. It taste nothing like strawberry or banana. It was weird. Idon?t know if the protein messed it up but we have had it at other places and it tasted great. Anyway, won?t be ordering anysmoothies from here anymore. Read more
