I ordered 3 tacos and 2 fish tacos yesterday. 3 tacos were beef and cheese - plain and simple. Fried fish tacos - usually a... wonderful light, crispy tasty meal- BUT NOT AT ALL. The fish tacos were disgustingly old, cold, and soggy- By far the most overrated item I've ever tried. Not to mention I got violently I'll after eating just 3 bites of one. And the simple beef & cheesetacos- well, with the whole 2 customers in the place, you'd think it wouldn't take 25 minutes for the food. BUT THEY COULDN'TEVEN GET THOSE RIGHT EITHER!! Consistently delicious food with authentic Mexican flavors served hot and with pride. Even when taking home you?re not... disappointed when you open the bag. The extra sauces are there carefully packaged and the order is exactly how you requested. This is one of our favorite places in town. Try the jerk pork, it?s the best with the exact amount of heat. Average quality ?Taco? place where it?s mostly sandwiches or dishes you have heard of served as a taco. Hip and trendy... atmosphere?you can tell they put effort in. Service was lacking?bartender took a while to emerge from the back to take ourdrink order, then disappeared for another 10 minutes before we could put our food order in. Never even asked if we wanted asecond round of drinks, just dropped off the check while we were still eating. Food and drinks were nothing special, but notbad. Everything was bland and under seasoned and portions were very small. The small side of black beans was a only fewmouthfuls and cost $4?despite the fact I?m fairly confident they are just doctored Goya black bean soup (red can). Which bringsme to the biggest reason for the 2 star review?ABSURDLY high prices. The small tacos are served a-la-carte and cost $5.25-6.25each! We ordered a total of two well drinks, 4 tacos, and a few mouthfuls of black beans and the bill was $49 before tip. Unjustifiable for the average quality, even more so for the small portions, and even more so than that for the poor service. Ican?t understand how they are in business with prices like that?serving canned beans and mediocre bland tacos. This place is huge, 3 rooms, full bar area, very impressive. This is not authentic Mexican but many people don't want authentic.... The give away is the ingredients in the tacos, too many to be authentic. Beef Picadillo on a corn tortilla, Chorizo con papashas potatoes and black beans and the chorizo was prepared lazily- not to my liking, and a Korean Brisket - one or 2 ingredientsare unnecessary in this taco. When we reached here, we were asked to wait for 15 min post which we seated. They have three section of seating excluding... outdoor and I think they were short staffed. We sat in the middle section and since it was near the kitchen, didn't feel the acthat much. However post seating we got our order after 30 min along with the drinks but the manager did apologize for thedelay. The drinks were good. Among the tacos, I did like the Thai and Nashville chicken tacos and the shrimp one. However thefish one wasnt that impressive. The manager was really nice due to the delay so four star for him only! This place was ?bumpkin? as the kids say. It felt like the neighborhood place to go. Patrons of all ages. Staff were hustling... all night. And they were delightful. Food was average. I got the pork tacos which were very bland until I added lime juice. Ricewas plain boiled rice with no flavor. Beans were spicy. My friend had the same rice and beans in a burrito and said the samething - bland. Read more
