Please don't complain about the cost of food here. Yes, it's expensive, but it costs money to deliver goods here in the national... park. I mean, you can drive way the heck out to the nearest town for dinner or bring your own food. It's your choice. 1. Weloved the food, ambience, and drinks so much that we came back the next evening. 2. The first time we came here, we shared theAncient Grain Salad for an appetizer. The dressing is a sun-dried based. Very good. I'm picky about dressings, but this wasdelicious. 3. The sangria was not too sweet, but not too bitter either. It didn't give me a headache the next morning like somesangrias do. They probably use the good wine here. Husband got the Gold Rush. Good drink! 4. The best braised short rib I'veever had. So tender, you didn't need a knife. Husband had the ribeye. Cooked to his liking. We ate every single thing on ourplate. 5. Second night I ordered the same dish. My husband got the the Ancient Salad again, but with chicken. Also ordered theSmoked Salmon Green Chili Mousse as an appetizer. It wasn't fishy tasty and he ate the whole thing. 6. Got the donuts fordessert. It's okay. Probably should've tried the chocolate truffle which we were going to order the second time, but we werestuffed. 7. The only thing I would recommend for this restaurant is to have bread service. Any kind of bread with soft butterwould have been nice. We would have paid for the bread. If you're tired from hiking and sightseeing or you're staying at thelodge, get a reservation and come here for dinner at least one night. Read more

Our party had a great time sharing entrees. The mushroom flatbread was great. Margarita was also very good. I?d pass on the... ribeye - it was about 12oz, thin, fine. Short rib was very good. Prices felt slightly high (steak was weak value). That beingsaid, you have to consider where you are. Mesa Verde is special - this place deserves a visit. Awesome views and friendlyservice. The food was delicious & the view was amazing. It is a little pricy for the serving size, but it is an excellent choice if you... are craving something other than fast food! #?ikan! Read more

When you are staying at the Far View Lodge, right in the national park and a 40 minute drive from any other restaurant, you are... a captive. The restaurant has a stunning wraparound view of the mesa and the distant San Juan mountains, so beautiful. The menuis limited but "curated", more suited to adults with expensive tastes. As the only game in town, prices are high ($10-15 forstarters, $25+ for mains) but food is good quality. Service is perhaps a seasonal problem. I was asked to wait 15 minutes to"improve flow", and there were long waits to take my order, get served, etc. Read more

While staying at the Fairview Lodge @ Mesa Verde National Park, we decided to have dinner at the Metate Room. We were delighted... with their Ribeye steak, and the strawberry parfait dessert was amazing. We didn't like the Trout too much, but the customerservice was excellent. Over all, 4.5 stars. Read more

I wish I could figure out how to post pictures. My prime rib was the size of the entire dinner plate! The sides were buried... underneath. It was amazing! Service was excellent. We are there 2 nights in a row as we were staying at the lodge. My son sayshis chicken tenders and fries were best he's ever had. Grilled cheese he had once was highly praised by him as well. I think Ipaid$32 for the price rib. Great price given how far they have to ship it to the top of the mesa! Highly recommend! Read more

The food was good, however the portions are rather small for the price. We ate here two nights in a row, as it was our only... option in Mesa Verde without a long drive to the nearest town. Both evenings the service was very slow and we didn't getrefills on sodas/lemonade, as the waiter was too busy (I think they must be understaffed). Also, the second night my food wasbarely warm (lobster ravioli). I appreciated that they allowed my teenage daughter to order a grilled cheese off the kids menu, though, as she is a picky eater and didn't want anything too fancy. It also took forever to get the dessert we ordered. Read more

The restaurant is slightly upscale but if you are staying in the park it is worth it and the views from the dining area are... awesome. Read more
