I have ordered the cod dinner at the A&W in Frankfort before. I was amazed at the amount and quality of their thick, fluffy,... pull apart fish dinner for only $12.99. Much like you?d get at a high end sit down restaurant, So much I couldn?t finish it all.I had a hankering for fish today and couldn?t wait to get some from the A&W in manistee. However, when I received my food in thedrive through and opened it up I was really disappointed. I got two, 1/4inch thin, crunchy, silver dollar sized ?pieces of cod?.Super super sad and crazy that it can vary so much from location to location. My husband ordered his meal with cheese curds (andpaid the up charge) and got French fries. Not a great experience. Read more
The food is pretty okay. It is possible to enjoy it if you are in The right mood. However, the pricing is a bit to expensive.... The last time I went I ordered some chicken tenders and a root beer float. The total came out to $11.56, and I only had a ten onme. I asked the lady working if she could spare some change and she?s told me they have a strict policy on that which isunderstandable. She then directed me to a nearby bank for, which I now realize was because there was an atm. However at the timeI thought she recommending me to partake in a life of crime. I thank her and told her I would be right back. I headed over tothe bank and walked in with firework I had in the back of my truck. I demanded them to fill up a bag with cash promptly. Howevermy request was never granted and and instead the cops arrived and took me in the back of their car. They threw me in jail and tothis day I still blame A&W for ruining my life. Great food, fast, and friendly service. Fun little place for some diner style food. The root beer float was perfect.
Have not been to an A&W in a very long time. It is not as good as I remembered. I ordered the fish and fries. It came with... coleslaw. The coleslaw was the best part of the meal. The fish was so small and tasted like Gordon food service warmed up in theoven. Not in any hurry to go back. Also there was an older women working that seamed very grouchy and kind of rude to one of theyounger girls working. Read more
Very good food and nice atmosphere! Bonded well with my dad for the first time in ages over burgers and tall mugs of root beer.... There are little activities on the placemats and we did them together! I ordered the kids' chicken tenders, they were wonderfuland came with an activity book. Really good place to just talk over dinner. I saw a cool car in the parking lot!!! OVERALL: -nice and welcoming staff - you can buy a glass bug for 5 dollars, they put it in a carryout bag with gift wrap - good burgers,good chicken tenders, pretty good fries, and of course great root beer. - activity mats for the kids but they don't have crayons(as of the day i went) - statue of the mascot, rooty the bear, by the cash register - wonderful scenery around the area I haveno photos inside, but i got some nice ones around it and i wanna share them !! It doesn?t get any more old-school than a an A&W root beer stand. Grabbed a combo with a foot-long hotdog with Coney sauce and... onions. Some kind of spicy ranch fries with lots of jalapeños. Not very good for me but I enjoyed it. Read more
Just had to revise my old review. Went to order 2 floats and the lady repeated back 2 drinks and when we tried to get her... attention on the speaker there was no answer. We we got to the window she said the amount and we told her that it was for 2floats. When we told her it was floats she said no it was drinks and that would be more money. No problem we understand that butshe wasn't very friendly at all and we got the floats there was very little icream in them. We go to A&W a few times a week butthat is not called for and we probley won't be back. Read more
