Reviews for La Carreta Mexican Restaurant in Manitowoc, WI
Good, authentic Mexican food. Large portions. Delish margaritas. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Oh,... and the salsa is wonderful with lots of cilantro and not overly hot. Read more
La verdad, no me gusto. El taco fue mas o menos. El relleno fue lo peór! No se quien le enseño esa recéta. I am 100% Hispanic... and my opinion is - not that great, not authentic, mediocre food. I have only tried this one time during lunch and was notimpressed with the quality. I ordered the #1 from the lunch menu. Which was chile relleno, beef taco &beans. Worst relleno I'veever had. It looked good but when i cut into it, it spewed some liquidy milky substance that was so runny. NO! The beef tacowas the better of the two. Rice and beans were delicious! Salsa & chips are given before the meal and definitely catering tothee "mild salsa" crowd aka gringos. The flavor was on point though. Service was great, place was very clean. I just think theyare catering to a different crowd instead of sticking to authenticity. Read more
Our favorite restaurant to dine at while staying in Manitowac. Please support this lovely Mexican restaurant?s fantastic food.
Food is excellent! Very reasonably priced, and good size portions. I'm not fond of spicy food, and my meal wasn't. Just VERY... flavorful, and a good blend of cooked and fresh foods. There are more spicy options on the menu, or they have a variety of hotsauces available. It was MUCH better than the Mexican restaurant I had visited on the way Southwest side of Manitowoc. I highlyrecommend. Read more

My husband went here for the first time ever and proclaimed this his favorite restaurant in the area. Wonderful Mexican food.... Service is prompt and polite. For two people and a child with drinks we spent around $40. Margaritas are soooo good but becareful. One jumbo and you may have to call for a ride!! They do get busy around meal times especially on the weekend. Read more
Selection of food and margaritas is expansive, on par with good local Mexican restaurants. Margaritas were decent, kind of weak... on the alcohol end, but they were buy one get one. I would go back in the future but probably wouldn't pay for margarita againunless stronger. The service was fast! Read more
