I was visiting Mankato and remembered this place being a local staple for cheap Mexican fast food. It's been around for ages,... and the atmosphere certainly matches that description. I wish I could say I was more impressed by the nostalgic charm of itall, but the food was simply okay at best. I was with others who ordered from their simple offerings and felt the same about ittoo. I haven't been to Zanz in years! It was great to have a couple of tacos from a family owned restaurant. They were delish!
I would give this 3 stars, but there were a couple HUGE red flags that droppes it to 2 stars. First...all in all, the food was... decent, just not a very large serving for the price. Second... the 1 and ONLY bathroom is around back and basically in thekitchen area. It definently needs some attention and cleaning, and had i used the bathroom before I ate, i probably would haveleft with out eating. Lastly... EVERY garbage can was full... there were 3 people working, we were the only sit down customersthere, trays were stacked on the garbage cans, ash trays havent been emptied in who knows how long, (i dont smoke, so didntbother me, just something i noticed) yet the garbage couldnt be changed? So basically the food was ok, i havent gotten sick yetso thats good. Probably wont ever go back though... Read more
The cheese chilitos are beyond amazing! Soft flour tortillas with gooey cheese & special sauce, YUM!!!! Delicious comfort food!... Don't forget the chips & cheese!! Read more
