This used to be my favourite restaurant in Manotic area, but since the ownership change the quality of food and service has gone... down. My family visited in person for dinner a few weeks ago. The service was very slow and not attentive, we weren?t able toeven get refills on water. There was obviously a staff shortage so it?s hard to be critical, but at least a quick ?how are youguys doing? would be appreciated. I decided to try again today and get some take out pho and summer rolls. My favourite dishwas the special ?spicy tenderloin pho?; it always had the most tender melt in your mouth beef tenderloin chunks and spicy broth.This time however, the little amount of meat (which I don?t think was tenderloin) was very hard, and the they ALL had largethick gristle which made it impossible to eat. I ended up chewing on each piece of meat and throwing them all out. Also, at thebottom of my soup I found a shrimp leg? no shrimp were even in my order.. good thing I don?t have an allergy. The summer rolls Iordered were wrapped in plastic wrap. I?m not against plastic wrap but for the delicate rice paper wraps, when you unroll themthey all just break apart. The peanut sauce it came with was tasteless and somehow chunky. Very unpleasant. I?m sorry to say itbecause I?ve been a long time customer of Viet Express, but I will not be eating here again. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try this gem of a restaurant. My friends raved about their food and I finally gave it a try... for myself and really enjoyed it. I got the Ebiten rolls and the stir fried vermicelli with pork and vegetables. The descriptionof the noodles does not do it justice. It was very fresh and flavourful with delightful surprises light crispy shallots andpickled onions. One of the best stir fried dishes I can remember having in a long time. This place has gone downhill fast!! I guess new owners purchased it and they have no clue how to run a business. It took 15... painful minutes just to place an order. When we received the food, you can certainly tell the quality is subpar, smallquantities and higher pricing. I have been ordering from here for many years and sadly, I will never order here again. New owners have destroyed this place. They took away the ONE self managed delivery service away from Manotick and then reduced... portions, increased prices and nothing tastes Vietnamese anymore. I?m not impressed. Read more

Very disappointing. This is usually our go to comfort food. Not only has quantity changed but the noodles are these skinny... things now...not nearly as satisfying. The broth is ok but not nearly as tasty. We might have to venture out to Barrhaven forour Pho cravings. Read more

This place must have changed ownership? we always order from this location and have noticed in the past month that the cost of... the pho has increased, but the quality has decreased. We ordered a couple of chicken pho, and each serving had only one thinslice of chicken in it, and the quantity and quality of vegetables has decreased. It?s not what it used to be.
