Attended a wedding here, bartender was spot on with great jokes, service was spectacular, wines were delicious. (I didn?t like... wine prior to coming here) food was also delicious. I would highly recommend this venue. Had a great outdoor area with a firepit. Brick oven pizza! Wow. All accounts, very amazing! Read more
Right up front, I'm not posting about their wine. Found this winery while traveling across Illinois toward Chicago. No times... posted anywhere on their website and Google assumed they were open. Drove 20 minutes out of the way and they were closed. BUT, a sign said wine tastings at the "Market" next door Tuesday - Sunday (11-6?). After parking and walking to the Market, found out it was also closed. Please update your website and your sign for future patrons (or tell people to call first toverify times. Honestly, updating the website really shouldn't be all that difficult for better customer service.) Gave it a3 since i didn't taste the wine (and that wouldn't be overly fair to rate it lower), but in the realm of customer service, Itwas a 1 in this instance. UPDATE: Appreciate the response from the winery. May I suggest a "visit winery" section of yourwebsite or "tasting room times".... seems like "calendar" is typically where events are displayed, not daily operating times.(But you're right, we should have probably been able to find it) We will try coming again next time we're in the area and hopeto enjoy your wines at that time. My mom has loved her previous experiences at this restaurant so we made a res here for Mother?s Day and drove out from Chicago... to join. I?m not sure if it was due to inflation but the menu was affected by shortage of food items. The restaurant was out ofmozzarella, and the waitress went back a couple of times to grab more bread before just never bringing us any. When we asked shesaid that they were also out of bread. My dad ordered tea and they were also out. Finally, when it came to dessert we orderedthe cake which came with ?vanilla ice cream.? Assuming they did not want to explain they were out of a fourth item, theypresented us this cake slice with a cool puddle of what I assumed was strawberry ice cream LOL. We had our ?best day ever? at Acquaviva and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I had 30+ people say it was the best wedding they had ever... been to. The venue and grounds are beautiful, the food is impeccable, the service was great! One awesome add on is the guesthouse on the property. My bridesmaids slept there with me the night before and the bridal party slept there after the wedding.It was the perfect place to get ready on the day of. Through out the process, Acquaviva staff communicated promptly with me, wehad the most fun tasting, and we met with one of the owners for our final details meeting. When our wedding coordinator (outsidevendor) was late, Acquaviva staff stepped in to start setting up our centerpieces. At the end of the night, we hadn?t gotten anydessert and the staff packaged up 2 cannolis for the groom & I to go. It was above and beyond (and I have high expectations!) We got married at Acquaviva this weekend and the staff is incredible! We had to quickly change our outdoor ceremony inside due... to rain and they moved so quickly, helped me keep calm and everything looked beautiful! Suzanne the wedding coordinator is anabsolute dream, she took such good care of us and very detail oriented, which every bride needs on her big day. Had a great lunch with a tasting and a tour. Made reservations in advance, they were very accommodating. A wedding was... rescheduled to the day of our reservation but because it was later in the day we were still able to come. The food and wine weregreat, Vito was a great host. His help with the tasting was much appreciated and I found a new favorite wine. The tour was shortbut full of history, I highly recommend doing the tour with Vito. He and his family are great and I look forward to theirwinery's future endeavors! Read more
It?s been over two years since I visited this establishment. In the past, I was always pleased with the quality of food. Not... tonight. Everything tasted frozen. Two dishes of white fish at my table were sent back to the kitchen (by two patrons whose usedto love this dish here). My order of shrimp was awful. I didn?t send it back to the kitchen. It?s obviously not the chef?sfault. The taste/flavor was fine. The texture was awful?frozen product. If you can?t offer fresh seafood, then take it off themenu. Read more
