This past 4th of July my fiancée and I had the pleasure of dining at Cayton’s for what they touted as a Brews & Que (BBQ and... Brews) Dinner Event. Not knowing what to expect we walked into a menu filled with up to 6-7 choices of meat, such as burntends, ribs, brisket, and more. Along with the great choice were the excellent sides. Was pleasantly surprised what a greatprice point they set. What we were most blown away by was the incredible BBQ they prepared, easily the best I have ever had!! Along the amazing food, the service was perfect and of course THOSE views. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visitingthe Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain or just staying/living in the area. We had lunch and dinner here during our stay and this is a beautiful and very tasty restaurant! Yes, the burgers served at... lunch quite seriously are about the best burgers my wife and have ever had! Thick with juice running down your hand good! Butthe dinner was also mouth watering! My wife had the Yardbird chicken that had been expertly brined and was so yummy! I had theshrimp and grits and it was like I was in the best place in New Orleans! So creamy and good! This was an amazing golf course! The atmosphere swas amazing. We had a group out there and they did an amazing job. We even got... glow in the dark golf! Check out my pictures. If you get a chance to go please do you won't be disappointed. They smoke thereown meat there as well! Read more
Went there last night the food and service were excellent ! My wife had the Salmon and said it was wonderful and cooked perfect,... I had the Cod it was terrific as well. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes really bad or inedible (very inconsistent). We’ve ate here many times since my parents... live a few minutes away and we really want to like it but the service especially is less than desirable. Difficult to get anyoneto help you make a reservation, we’ve been forgotten at tables, food took an hour once despite us asking multiple times andbeing told no problem - if we could have something like the rolls or French fries come out early so our kids could eat becausethey were starving. Wings were so spicy my dad couldn’t eat them (and he loves spicy food but it was completely inedible).Heard another guy behind us also complaining last time. The worst though is the kids menu. I’ve ate at a ton of nicerestaurants (much more upscale) and I have never seen a kids menu with a $19 peanut butter and jelly sandwich or hot dog. How isit even comparable to the adult menu? Who comes up with these kind of prices? May as well just say kids are not allowed in therestaurant if they want to drive away the thousands of families in dove mountain area. With only a few restaurants in the area,they could be so busy. We’ve spoken to over a dozen couples and families who live in Dove Mountain who all reported similarissues with service and ridiculous kids menu. Burger is huge! Recommend splitting unless you are really really hungry. Was very good but most burgers are $22-$26 each.... Expected being on the premises of the Ritz. Kids split the $19 kids meal, yes $19, but they split the plates up well and eachgot a drink and dessert so still worked out well. Would recommend if looking for a good burger and staying at the hotel. Read more
Very pleasant lunch outside on the patio. Service from Jennifer and the rest of the crew was exceptional. I tried the new Paloma... Negra cocktail (twice) ... you gotta try the squid ink! Salmon was cooked to my asking and the chicken sandwich with gluten freebun exceeded expectations. Read more
The only reason this gets 2 stars is because our server was super sweet. The dinner menu is horrible, apparently they are trying... to elevate the restaurant but have failed. The food we had was bad, just plain bad. Salads were average at best, the crab cakeswere dense and mushy, not crispy at all. The winter squash fritters tasted like burnt cinnamon. But worst of all was the smokedyellow tomato and fennel broth that was on all of our plates. The smell was horrible the taste was even worse - tangy smoke atbest. We told our server that none of us liked it and we thought that was unusual enough to mention, she appreciated the commentand after telling the kitchen said they were probably done tweaking the menu. At that point we didn’t tell her that most ofour food was inedible- but it should have been obvious by what was left on our plates. Ritz Carlton, simple and good is waybetter than whatever weird thing we ate tonight. Read more
