We like Firehouse. Good subs, made fresh, and at a reasonable price. Customer service is great too.
Every time I come here, it's the same spiel. Sandwiches take too long, the service is subpar and either cold or dry (which is... opposite what they advertise.) Won't be coming back anytime soon. Ordered 4 sandwiches tonight and 4 bowls of Mac and cheese. Informed by phone they were out of Mac and cheese until Monday. ... Not a big deal for that I tell them just cancel that and I'll still get the subs. When I inquire about the price difference,because no employee mentioned it I was told I have to dispute the issue with my bank as they can't issue refunds for onlineorders. So now I've been overcharged and stuck in limbo waiting to hear from their corporate customer service or I issue afraud charge with my bank. To add to this insult, I asked for dressing on the sides for two Italian subs and that was not done. Also the store did not include the deli mustard for the same subs. Update:. I was contacted by the owner who apologized for therefund issue and took responsibility as it came down to a training issue. I was able to go in and get the money sorted. The menu doesn?t specify what small, med & large are. Had we known we would have ordered appropriately. We ordered 2 small subs... and they were almost $6.50 each after tax. They were really small, maybe 3 inches? sloppy and dry and took quite awhile to makeconsidering it was empty in there and one was literally meat, cheese and lettuce. I asked about it and was met with snark andeye rolls by the employees. I got a snarky ?sorry?. That?s what made me just want a refund. It was so snotty. They reallydidn?t care. The manager came out and I explained again. Instead of listening or even looking at the food, he says ?I?m notgoing to apologize for how we do things here?. One minute he says they?re 4 inches?these were not 4 inches?then he says it?sapproximate?so they can just do whatever and charge you for it? He was making a scene. I had already left all the food on thetable and asked for a refund yet he?s continuing to go on and on and on making it even more uncomfortable to be there. Sayinstuff like he eats the same size and it?s plenty of food for him. He just wouldn?t stop! Instead of arguing with customers hecould have just refunded me and moved on. I wasn?t trying to argue with him.I wasn?t trying to draw attention to myself. Withdrinks and those 2 pathetic sandwiches and a tiny bag of chips was $21 to be treated like that on top of it! I just wanted toget my money and leave. As someone who has worked food service half my life I found him extremely unprofessional, andinappropriate. I?ve eaten at some bad places in this town but this is the first place I?ve ever asked for a refund at. I willnever go to another Firehouse location again.Not worth the money at all. I came in last night and the staff working there had great attitudes and got my food out efficiently. Everything tasted great... and fresh. The prices were a little steeper than I expected, but for the portions, it's more than worth it, imo. I recommend theturkey bacon ranch! Edit: Upon coming back the last three times unfortunately the service and sandwiches have left a bit to bedesired. I hope next time it's better but I don't think I'll be back for a while :( Read more
Hubby ordered a medium hot Firehouse steak & cheese on white bread, and I had a medium hot Engineer on white. To save time, we... looked at the menu online and were ready to order when we reached the counter. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but therewere 4 people ahead of us - I was very hungry and regretted not placing our order online! But we wanted to dine in, so Iexercised my patience muscles ???? Boy, it was sure worth the wait - we both really enjoyed our subs, and we shared a mediumunsweetened tea ???? We'll be going back for sure. Stopped in for a quick safe sandwich and they delivered! Back in Washington state we avoided this place like the plague! My... wife, having a craving for a sub sandwich, caved and we tried it again, but in Arizona this time. They absolutely crushed it!Fresh meat, crunchy veggies and not swimming in sauces, just the way she likes it. I would have gave 5 stars if I hadn't had theoccasional fly dive bombing me. Read more
