JC remembered us after 3 years away. He remembered our order and he remembered our dietary restrictions. I can't say anything... more to convey the quality of service. He takes care of his customers, he engages with them and... Oh by the way... Did Imention the food? Akbar stands out from the vast majority of their Indian food peers. Not because of the specific dishes(though they do have a few unique options you should definitely explore), but because of their spice profile. It's somethingdifferent, yet familiar. Something bold, yet cohesive. Their naan is traditionally cooked and light and delicious. Their riceis buttery and perfectly balances the curries. If you eat meat, it is well cooked and richly seasoned. And if you want wine? Oh,just let JC take care of you... He greatly enjoys his role as a guide through his fairly extensively curated wineselection. Just overall a fantastic experience and I'm glad to see after 3 years, a pandemic and an ever evolving LA foodlandscape, Akbar remains true to itself and a standout Indian experience. Read more

Excellent Indian food focused on Mughlai cuisine.. way better than everything else you'll find with amazing wine prices... They... have a beautiful patio setup as well for outdoor dining. Highly recommend trying the lamb chops, chicken tikka masala. Great vegdishes as well... Clean food... I'm a regular here thanks to the passion towards quality. One of the best culinary experiencesyou can have! Read more

Our friends live in the neighborhood and brought us here for dinner. I have a long list of allergies and the manager JC was... incredibly helpful and accommodating, suggesting dishes I could eat. Everything was absolutely delicious! We tried the chef’sspecial, the eggplant, coco lamb, the okra, and several other dishes. Everything was so flavorful and wonderful, the coco lambbeing the standout. It was nice to sit outside on the patio to eat and we were able to bring our puppy which was nice. Highlyrecommend this place! Read more

Love this place, it's got a great patio, great selection, some appropriately volumed jazz music. The owner, or who I assume is... the owner, is super attentive and even remembered me the second time I came in after like 3 months lol. I think a lot of peopledo takeout here it seems like, but I like to set aside some time to just go dine alone and this is one of the places that I feelvery welcomed doing that. Most entrees are around $17 and then you can turn it into a meal with rice, veggies, naan for an extra$5. Beer and wine prices seem fair. Food and drinks come out promptly, and the amount of food will make 2 meals unless youabsolutely stuff yourself. Can't think of anything else to say, but I highly recommend this as my favorite Indian spot inVenice. Read more

worst place I have eaten. The food is not tasty at all. I ate in Miami at about the same lamb chops restaurant and they were... really very tasty there. And here for $ 20+ I got only 2 pieces of lamb chops. The food is most tasteless. spent $30 fornothing in other places for $20 you can eat much tastier. First and last time I went to this restaurant. Good indian tandoor items after a very long time. Both our tandoor came out really really well, perfectly cooked and... seasoned. For Starters we had the chicken Kathi roll and the aloo aam tikka. The filing for the Kathi roll was good but howeverthe chutney with which it was served didn't justify it. The Aloo aam Tikka was ok however. The naan that was serverd was reallyfresh and were good portion size. Didn't like the bhindi masala as there were some bhindi that wasn't cooked will And was veryhard. The akbari kofta was howver really good. The chicken masala was suggested to us by the owner and it was totally worthit. Overall the food is really good here definitely worth a visit. The owner is really friendly and the service is also verygood. Read more

Super tasty Indian food with decent prices. $17 will get you an entree, rice, Naan, lentils, and veggies. The saag paneer was... really flavorful...I got spice level 3 (it's normally a 2) and I wouldn't recommend going any higher unless you really want hot.The butter chicken was delicious - not as sweet as other places, and super savory.
