First time trying Tops. We were coming through town in the ambulance, and decided to have something different. I'm pretty picky... on BBQ and typically need to be in the mood for it. We had a good visit. I got the jumbo brisket sandwich with baked beans andpotato salad. I can't speak for others issues, but my food come out hot and very good. The staff was very friendly. First of all, let me say that I have eaten a LOT of BBQ in San Antonio, Kansas City, and Memphis, and the three should not be... compared directly. Texas BBQ is usually heavy smoked and served with a spicy sauce on the side. KC BBQ is lightly smoked with asweet sauce. And Memphis BBQ is mostly just grilled with minimum smoke and a mustard/ vinegar based sauce. With that said let'sget to Tops BBQ. It's good Memphis style BBQ. And although all BBQ is expensive, theirs was a very good price for a gut-bustingamount of food (meat). About 18 dollars for the sampler plate. We ate in, which I highly recommend even though the place is wellused. That way you get all three choices of sauce, which is a wonderful collection of flavors. The sweet is right out of KC. Thehot is straight from San Antonio. And the medium is the perfect Memphis sauce. With these sauces and all that meat, it was a funmeal. And to keep this review a little shorter, here's some quick notes on the rest: 1. I understand BBQ must be cooked wellbefore serving, and keeping it hot is tough without over cooking, but it could have been served a little warmer. 2. The beanswere good, and with a little doctoring from the sauces, they became very good. 3. The cole slaw tasted like potato salad onlywith cabbage. Kinda odd. 4. The toasted buns were a nice touch instead of cold bread. 5. The service was friendly andfast. Overall, I would recommend eating in at Tops. As persons traveling through this area, we were excited to stop and get some BBQ from a restaurant we had heard well of on tv... before. This location had very friendly staff, however that?s where the compliments end. We paid $40 for food that we ended upmostly throwing all of it away. The food quality was poor, did not look or smell good, was not priced appropriately for theamount of food given, and we were very disappointed we had this experience. My car shut off in the Drive-thru, the guys in the building came out so fast to offer assistance. Then this lady came out to... offer me a jump etc. This whole crew went over and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and received my food. Great job!!!1030am 7/20/22 Read more

Absolutely no sense of urgency here. People behind the window preparing your food stuffing their mouth while preparing your... order. Then he picks up a white towel to wipe and wipes off his mouth and throws it on the prep table. The dining area is dirty.I was there 15 minutes after opening, floor was dirty and sticky. The swinging door for the trash cans looked like they have notbeen wiped clean in as least a week. I just ended up leaving without ordering. I just could not even try it.
