I visited this restaurant on recommendation from the front desk at a hotel I am staying. A little about the restaurant. The... store allows for people to place online orders as well as orders at the counter. Some people walk into the store and grab theorders they placed previously to walking to the store. I arrived at the restaurant at 4:45 pm on 09 October 2022. When Iarrived, there was Hispanic man, myself, and an elderly African American woman who were waiting to place our orders. There were2 African American men who were working in the kitchen. After we all placed our orders, we went to sit down and wait for thecompletion of our orders. We were expecting to wait 25 minutes as per the sign at the register. 5 minutes into waiting, 2 youngwomen came into the store and placed their orders. I decided to go wait in the car for the completion of my order. 20 minuteslater, the Hispanic man in front of me walked out the store with his order. I decided to re-enter the store as my ordercompletion should have been next . I went back inside the restaurant and sat back down. 10 minutes go by. The men completed theorders of the 2 women who came behind the elderly African American woman and myself. We both continued to wait. Soon after the 2women left and 2 more men walked into the store and placed there orders at the counter. They did not have online orders as oneof the men who worked in the kitchen asked them. 10 minutes go by. The men in the kitchen completes the order of 1 of the men.5 minutes later, they complete the order of the other man. At this point I was frustrated. I looked at the elderly AfricanAmerican woman and could tell she was not happy as well. Another 10 minutes go by and the elderly African American woman wasFINALLY called. 5 minutes later I was called for my food. I went into the Captain?s Hook?s on 159th & Kedzie yesterday to order their 8 piece special $5.99 the chicken was horrible it... taste like fish and the ceiling was leaking, That establishment will never get my business again very disappointed with the foodI paid for ????they need to do a lot better. Captain Hooks Fish and Chicken! First time here. Driving thru from the state of Michigan. This place caught our eye! I would say... it?s a little hole in the wall. No dining in available. Order / Pick up and go! Mask is required: but social distance not! Myfriend ordered chicken tenders and I ordered Catfish and Fries! I want to say I made the right decision! The fish was superfresh! Literally coming off the fryer!!! It was so fresh I burnt my tongue. Super crispy and the meat was tender! My friend andI shared food. I felt like the chicken was too dry and it wasn?t as crispy.
