Mixed emotions came from this visit. Service was good. Food came out uncooked but came out fresh and new when reported. Staff... was very nice. I'd recommend this place for food and drinks Read more

Been a long time since we’ve been there and thought we’d stop on our way home from Hartford. We had to ask for menus and... then after our food was brought, we had to ask for silverware. Not impressed with the food or the service. Service was veryinattentive. After asking if we’d like dessert, we said no. Typically at this point they bring the check. After more than 10minutes (wasn’t busy at all) we had to ask someone else to find our server to get our check despite making eye contact withour server. Read more

A surly server, an extremely limited menu, and food that was average at most, but trended toward mediocre. This was our first... visit and it will absolutely be our last. Our server didn't bother asking if we wanted to order a beverage, treated us as if wewere stupid for trying to order a flatbread appetizer "we don't have that" said in a tone that implied that we should have knownbetter, and showed an utter disdain for providing any level of customer service. The fish and chips were average at best. Thechicken sandwich was tender but lacked seasoning, and the mac and cheese was both over peppered (black pepper) and totallylacking in salt. And speaking of salt it's not a good sign when the salt in the shaker on thr table is one solid mass, and it'seven worse when the salt from the next table over is in the same state. One star is a fair rating. It was not the worst, butvery very far from being even average let alone one of the best. Read more

This was only my second time here. Both times were very good. The waitstaff were pleasant, patient and friendly. The food was... excellent. The ambiance is praise worthy since the Tavern dates back to 1770's. Read more

Though very good, it was a very small appetizer (calamari) don't even think of sharing unless you want to fight for it! The... plate was majority garnish. Buffalo Mac n cheese in name only, grilled checked with hot sauce plopped on top of the thin mac ncheese. Good beer selection but prices were not indicative of portions, don't expect to take anything home. Read more

My husband and I love visiting the tavern! We bring visiting family and friends here often. The historical elements of the... tavern are truly so cool to see, but the food and drinks keep us coming back again and again! The staff are friendly andhelpful, and they have great specials and cocktails. Recently we went for Easter brunch, and WOW ???? Read more

Came in for Bourbon history night by Old Forester. We had a couple drinks at the bar, great beer selection and their happy hour... cocktails were fun. The bartenders and servers were all very nice and accommodating. The Bourbon history dinner was to die for.The food was absolutely amazing. The Bourbon and the history provided were wonderful. They really took care of us, the dinnerhad a personal chef that incorporated the bourbons into the 4 course meal. Also, we left with a burger for my brother in law andhe said it was great. Highly recommend. Read more
