I just left Funky Murphy's and the only thing funky about this place was the food. I had only an hour to grab a bite to eat... which I thought would be ample time with it being 7:00 pm on a Wednesday. First off, it took almost 15 minutes to be greetedwhich I thought was odd considering the bar was 3/4 empty and there were only a few tables on the floor. I figured the 4servers/bartenders should've been able to handle it. By the time the food came I had maybe 10 minutes to eat, which is fine, Iasked for the check and paid before I even had a bite. I should've been weary of my dad's suggestion being that he has beensmoking and drinking for almost 4 decades. His tastes buds have definitely been singed off. He's vegetarian and order the hummusplatter. They served him a chicken hummus sandwich, that thankfully he took a second glance at before taking a bite. My "mediumrare" steak tips were a variety of temperatures ranging from medium to well-done, and to top it off the flavor was like how Iimagine a pickled hotdog would taste. When I signaled the waiter to come over, he took my dad's food before I could tell himabout mine. Because of the time crunch he had to take his food to go. I didn't even ask for my money back because I figured thisplace needed it more than I did. With prices reflecting an economy from 2013, I shouldn't have expected much. I think 3 stars isgenerous but this place has potential. Maybe they just had a bad night. This was my first time here and if I wake up sicktomorrow, it will definitely be my last. Read more
Great nightly dinner specials with a nice bar & grill atmosphere that can get loud at times. Parking can be a challenge... here. 07/09/2018 Well, they've addressed the noise issue but adding dampners in the ceiling which definitely helps. Really wanted to make this place my home this fall for NFL Sundays but I can see why this place was a quarter full for the first... NFL Sunday of the year. They advertise their Sunday Ticket and ability to catch all of the NFL action on their 9 60? TVs and135? projector. This was unfortunately not the case as 7 of their 10 TVs are mandatory Patriots viewing according to the server.This leaves 3 TVs for out of market games and RedZone at a first come first served basis. Unfortunately two of these remainingTVs are connected which means that Funky Murphys is only capable of showing 2 out of market games or 1 out of market game andRedZone in addition to the 7 TVs tuned to the Patriots. On this Sunday we were locked into no RedZone and 2/8 other NFL games.NFL Sunday Ticket bars and restaurants can be fun and usually they are. This is unfortunately not one of them. Can?t comment onthe food, only had a few beers before kickoff and left when we realized we would be unable to follow most of the action aroundthe league. Probably a fun place if you only want to watch the Pats but there?s plenty of other good Pats bars in the area.Steer clear of this place if you?re trying to have a fun NFL Sunday! Read more
It started out a really nice evening. They didn't have what we were hoping for but what we ordered was fantastic. The waitres is... so nice in the beginning and then just disappeared. We asked if we could split the check with 3 cards and she said no, that shedidn't know how and walked away. So we just put in one card and figured it out ourselves but she had another waiter come backinstead of her. I hope she is ok. It was a bit strange. The food was delicious and ppl were very friendly.... I had to edit my review... I went back the next day and a complete... 180!!!!! The "carriben jerk salad was not only bad but an insult... know the difference between jerk and Blackened.... and thebreast they served with it was completely over cooked.. Bartender Catie and Glen showed me and my friends the best hospitality, great drinks and were very attentive to all the... customers. Great place for food and drinks. My favorite place in town. PS I recommend the house gin. Read more
Excellent food. I had a Taco salad Delicious tasty and full of vegetables. My friends had Shepherd pie and Steak tips. They... also agreed their food was delicious and steak tips were cook to perfection. Only cons is they could use a decor face lift. Looking forward to their outdoor seating when the weather gets better. Read more
Exemplary service! Amazing food, just an unbelievable place to get together with friends and family to hang out and celebrate.... Stop in for a ufc fight and maybe get a bit more than a soda! Great time good people. Read more
