Daiwa is our close to home sushi spot. We love it! The sushi is so fresh and they have a pretty good selection of rolls. We also... love some of the salads. Not bad prices either! Definitely not too expensive. Read more

I walked in at 10 pm just now to order two roll. Crawfish and Philly. That?s it. A young lady at the register asked me to hold... on as she was playing on her phone another woman walks right up to the counter and says they are closed. I said you all close at10:30pm she turns and say what would you like to order. I tell her and then she turns around to look in the direction of thekitchen and tells me the chefs have all went home! I am looking at them. I walk out because I didn?t want to make a scene and becalled an angry black woman. Service and attitude are terrible! I wish more business care about their customers. Reallydisappointed. Read more

The Daiwa special roll was great. The shrimp gyoza was good too but I do wish it was seared on both sides. The miso soup is... good. Avoid their clear soup at all costs- it was terrible, tasted like old fish water. Bleh. Still giving it a 5 star because Ireally enjoyed the sushi and the service was good. Read more

We went on a Sunday. They opened at 12. We were the first ones there. Service was great. Food was good. The menu is pretty big.... The only issue I had was that the menu was difficult to read due to the lighting being dim and the lack of contrast between thecolor of the menu and the print. My old eyes couldn't read the black thin letters on the blue paper in the dark. Other than thatit was a good experience. The specialty rolls were around 14 dollars but they give you lots of it pieces and they tend to belarge. So good value on that. Definitely going back to try more stuff. Read more

This used to be the best Sushi place in Louisiana when Ken owned it. I ordered from here religiously. Now....with the new owners... it isn't even sub par sushi...it's bad sushi. If you love cucumber this is the place for you everything is diluted with it. Itried to give them a chance I've eating here about 5 times since the new owners took over, just in case they were working outthe kinks of new ownership. But it has progressively gotten worse every time I've ordered. This is the last time. From now on Iwill drive to Veterans blvd to eat the original owners Daiwa sushi. P.S. I never write reviews because usually I don't careenough to write reviews. But this is something I'm very passionate about...because I loved this place so much. Read more

The restaurant isn't very large but has a decent amount of tables and we've always been able to get a seat without making a... reservation. We had the popular Cowboy roll that has cooked meat, steak and crawfish, YUM.. and we had a roll that wasn't on themenu called The Angel. When asking the waitress what her favorite was, she recommended it. The Black & Gold sake was delicious,it had a subtle taste and complimented the sushi well. Our waitress, Ana, was a doll. Absolute sweetheart. Read more

I was charged a price that was different than the price stated on the menu. On the menu, the Chicken Teriyaki was $12.50, on... the bill, I had to pay $14.00. Management refused to do anything about it, even refusing to come over to talk to me about thisflagrant issue. Only the server offered was an apology. I wasn't going to argue over $1.50. If it's their policy to cheat theircustomers, they can do what they please. All I can say is that I wont be back. Read more

The food and service is amazing. The menu is large so it?s good to preview before you go. They have been updating the place for... the last few years and it?s coming out fantastic. It?s not overly expensive but you definitely get great food for the price. Read more
