I'll start off by saying the food is absolutely delicious! On top of great tasting food is the graciousness and sincerity of... the owner, and I must mention the friendly staff member who came over to the picnic table where we were eating and asked howeverything was and if we needed anything. The owner gave us samples while we waited for our food to be done, and he even gave usa complimentary catfish portion to take home with us. This was our first time here. We live an hour away, and my husbandwanted some good fried chicken on a recent Sunday. We prefer to dine at the "mom-and-pop" places, so I did a little researchfor fried chicken and hit the jackpot! The fried chicken was more than good, it was amazing, and the fried catfish was sotender and delicious like no other I've had here in Missouri. My daughter and I work nights, so we visited right when they closed. All that was left was spicy chicken sandwiches. He didn't... want to send us away hungry so he made us a couple. Probably the best spicy chicken sandwich I have had in awhile. Big chunk ofbreast meat, soft bun with lots of lettuce tomatoes and pickles. Hit the spot. We ate under the tree in my convertible and hegave each of us a can of pop because he knew they had a kick. Nice guy, can't wait to try different things. We ordered the loaded brisket potato meal, cheeseburger, and spicy chicken sandwich. The portions were large and the food was... amazing. Really friendly service. I was really happy to find out they are open on Thursday now too. I think this is the bestfood in Marshall. Read more
Went here to try something new. It will be our Sunday lunch spot from now on. The Mac and cheese is amazing. The green beans... are great not salty like most are and don't get me started on the fried chicken. Wife said the baked chicken. Was soo tender itfalls off the bone. Read more
I'd give this place 4 1/2 stars if it was a option. I'll post photos of the food but we've allready eaten some. The portions... were great. The pork steak was good. The fried chicken was very good.it gets 5 stars. Way better than k.f.c.The sides were goodalso. I will eat here again. Good food, good value, good portions. Read more

This is the kind of place I look for while on the road, , no thrills on decor, that's because they put their heart and soul into... the food. Only stopped once but I got the meatloaf. Amazing. The owner was beyond cool and talking with him he gives me apiece of chicken to try. It was delicious, crispy skin without all that breading, juicy and full of flavor. I bought what hehad left. I will only get to eat here one more time before I leave which is a sad deal. Support this place so they can be openduring the week you won't be disappointed, he knows soul food! Read more
