I was stuck in marshalltown for 5 weeks for a wind turbine project. Very rarely do I find a restaurant within walking distance... worth going to daily. This is that place. From the atmosphere to the food, this place is a diamond in the middle of cornfields. If you want a great meal, get some of their fried mushrooms, and follow it up with a hot tenderloin. We chose to eat in the outdoor patio area since we had our small dog with us. The food and service were both great. My only... concern was the fact that there's no shade other than the umbrellas, and it was much too windy to use them since they aren'tanchored down in any way. Other than that, all was great! My family was traveling and decided to grab dinner predetermined to eat the food we seen online. The food was great. The service... was horrendous. I?ve experienced staff to be conflicting, condescending, and rude. The host was a complete creep. He stared atme inappropriately and was leaning in on our table and was ease dropping in on us. I stole a sip of my Husbands drink and hecame around the corner like I was a 15 year old girl trying to get drunk in his restaurant ! Three stars with a 4th for the outdoor seating. The food ranges from good to ?meh?. So far, the wings and the Reuben are good,... the chicken salad sandwich, Swiss Mushroom burger, and the bruschetta are ?meh?. One upside is the they do have Des Moines IPAfrom Confluence on tap! Read more
