I attempted to go to Liv for my birthday this last Wednesday 9/14 and had a horrible experience. Tried to call ahead- no... reservations for parties less than 5. We got there about 6:30 and were told it was a 30 minute wait, which was to be expected soI had no issue with this. After about 40 minutes had gone by without anyone checking in, we asked the hostess for an update. Sheforcibly ?asked? us if we would be OK sitting at the bar behind the door- which on a normal night I would have done no issue-but it was my birthday and I felt like a table after 40 minutes of a 30 minute wait wasn?t an unreasonable request. I said tothe hostess ?we?ve already been waiting 40 minutes, will it be much longer for a table? We?ll wait? and she flippantly replied,nearly cutting me off, ?Yes- MUCH longer!? There had been a 2 top table open for about 25 minutes in the dining room at thispoint, which we could see from the waiting area, so I asked about this due to the wait and lack of tables apparently available.The hostess said ?oh no, ?they? won?t let me seat anyone there.? Needless to say, we left and went to KKaties where the servicewas great, quick, and friendly. This was extremely disappointing because I loved Fat Cat (where chef previously worked) and alsoHola. Shrimp toast was to die for. Oysters were mouth watering. This is our new place for unique food. Like dining in Boston.
Nice date place, as others have mentioned. Picked it because they readily had gluten free options on their menu, including fish... and chips! The fries served with the meal were much better than your average burger joint fry. My partner ordered paella, it hadsome lovely flavor and spice. The stand out of this meal though was the seafood martini appetizer. My partner and I would bothgo back for just a drink and a seafood martini, for sure. Get it! Had the guava margarita. It was good, but in the sweet sidefor a marg. My partner ordered a blueberry sour beer. I like this place's commitment to local ingredients. The bar wasbeautiful. The seating was comfortable and not too cramped for a little place. We went in around 8 and waited a few minutes fora spot. I try not to go eat the last hour of any place being open as a courtesy to the staff, but we were not the last to beseated. One downside to going ends of day is that they run out of things. None of our picks were out, but I over heard the 86list and it was...long. I suppose that's a good thing! Less waste and enough demand to run out. Read more
Excellent service and delicious food!
Visited LIV last night and had an amazing farm to table meal. Taco Tuesday will not disappoint as well as their handcrafted... cocktail list. With outdoor seating, great service and live entertainment I would highly recommend for a date night or night outwith friends. Perfect for before or after a show at Rexicana too! Read more
