Our visit was completely unplanned, we honestly stopped here because our planned destination was extremely busy. What a... wonderful surprise we had! The food was excellent! The prices were extremely fair. I say this because the quality and quantitygave great value for the price. The bowl of chowder was probably twice the size of most other restaurants bowls. And speaking ofchowder, this was the best I've had since I moved to Wisconsin. This chowder took me back to my youth on the north atlanticshore. The only thing that surpassed the food was the service. It's so nice to interact with a staff that actually cares aboutthe customers experience. We will definitely be back. Read more
My wife and I both ordered the 2pc fish fry, after almost an hour waiting for our dinner we were pleasantly surprised with the... quality of fish! The breading was a disappointment (soggy) but tartar, and Cole slaw were superior. Personally, I had wished theserver was more upbeat, happy, energetic! I don't know the circumstances but in my opinion.....this restaurant could flourishwith some happy people's! Keep driving your employees! Read more
Not a great experience. We were seated immediately after arriving. The waitresses took the kids drink orders but not the adults.... She brought the kids their drinks, but again never asked the adults. After about 10 minutes we flagged her down and let her knowwe were ready to order. We ordered our drinks with our food. The people next to us were upset because they were there before usand had not yet ordered (we were unaware of that and felt bad). The kids food came out quite quickly. My 3 year old ordered akids cheeseburger. It came out on what looked like 2 pieces of cornbread. Turns out it was 2 pieces of extremely stale bread cutdown to the size of his charred hockey puck burger. He didn't eat it! The waitresses brought the sodas for the others but not myold fashioned (it was a Friday fish fry in WI). She said mine would be right out. Needless to say it never did. Our food arrivedso I went to the bar to ask since the bar was nearly empty. The bartender was trying to pour a draft beer for someone and dumped4 glasses of foam before the person asked for a bottle instead. I asked if my old fashioned was almost ready and he said hedidn't have an order for one. I reordered and he looked at me like he'd never heard of such a thing. He had to search the entirebar for whiskey (I didn't order a call brand) and couldn't find old fashioned mix. He ended up delivering it to the table for me(43 minutes after we arrived and 5 minutes after our food arrived). Only reason for 2 stars is because the fish was actuallydecent. I have eaten breakfast here multiple times and dinner once. Each time the food was very good. However, what really makes this... place shine is the service. Karen was my server for breakfast and she was efficient, friendly, and had an excellent memory. Shemade my breakfast experience great every morning. Read more
Ok food, but small portion for the price. Low staffed and they where out of alot of stuff....friendy staff though.
Lovely place to eat with first class service and food that's a little different. For my fish and chips, I had beer battered... perch, which is unusual because it's usually a sea fish, rather than a freshwater fish. But it was cooked to perfection. No softbits of batter and a delicious tarragon remoulade. Highly recommended. Read more
Celebrated my 30th birthday here. It is under new management and has changed hands many times over the years. Love the... renovation, small private room though. Fits 20 comfortably which can be on the small side coming from a big family, bar helpedfor overflow though and more workable space anyway. Great appetizers, pizza and very helpful staff! Read more
Was there on 11/4/22 and ordered fish fry it was disgusting the batter was like what you put on chicken not impressed at all!
