Sometimes off the beaten path is the best route to happiness. We were told if ever in Martinsburg, PA to check out Mamie's and... today was the day. We had an amazing lunch, she had the Reuben and I had the best damn roast beef sandwich EVER. Thesandwiches came with potato chips and we ordered a side of fries which, while not needed were certainly enjoyed. Mamie's alsosells incredible baked goods so we stocked up on the way out. If you are around Altoona, shoot over to Martinsburg and try outMamie's. They serve breakfast and lunch, the dining g room is open until 2pm and the bakery closes at 5pm. Check em out. The donuts, and regular food are amazing and the service is hit or miss but the prices of the baked goods are getting a little... out of hand. A cream filled donut is $5!!! So yes...a dozen of cream filled donuts would be $60. I think this is a greatplace and think that the staff and especially the owners are great but this morning when I purchased 2 cream filled donuts and 4regular glazed donuts I had to verify three times that's all I purchased after she told me the price.
