Delta was recommended to me by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. Well worth the out of the way trip. The atmosphere is... super cool, it has an old east coast diner feel which was very nostalgic. Staff was super friendly and attentive, food wasdelicious and interesting. I had a cheeseburger omelette which was a special that day. Tried one of their famous pancakes, veryinteresting and really good. Can?t recommend highly enough. Read more

Delicious food with impressively friendly wait staff who speak succinctly and have the superhuman ability of reciting the menu... with great detail from memory. The diner is well kept and the seating area is pristinely clean despite the vintage decor. Thediner pays its staff livable wages and doesn?t expect customer tips! Read more

I arrived at the Delta Diner after hours of riding a motorcycle through the pouring rain. I was greeted with a warm smile and... cup of coffee. I was completely thrown back by the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. The fact that the waitress lookedyou in the eye while explaining the menu is astounding in today's world. The food was ridiculously good. They gave me andanother biker a free Pancake as it was our first time. It was the best Pancake I've ever had and thats not the soggy motorcyclegear talking. I immediately regretted not getting a stack of these. The coffee was above par for a diner, actually everythingwas above par for a diner. Don't let the name fool you. I can see why people drive hours here. Will be back. Soon. Read more

We went to lunch here on a whim when we were driving out of Ashland. It was a half hour drive, but definitely worth the trip! We... were lucky and got in right away(it can be quite a wait, we have heard). The menu is on the board above the counter, but theserver came and went through the whole thing, explaining all of the dishes (it was our first time there), which was very helpfulas everything looks super simple, but there are wonderful surprises waiting! My wife got the almond crusted walleye sandwich andreally loved it. I got the stuffed hash browns, which had tasty pulled pork in it, and it was great. My sister-in-law got theNorwegian pancakes with jalapeno in them, and she said they were amazing(and now she wants to try making them at home). Mybrother-in-law got the PBLT (perch bacon lettuce and tomato), and was impressed with how great it was. We all commented that wewished we lived closer so we could get back often to try all of the menu. Oh, and I forgot about the excellent chocolate maltthat I had; it always makes me so happy when it is so malty flavored!! Read more

The Delta Diner was very busy when we stopped on Saturday around noon - probably the busiest they could get. We were quoted a 45... minute wait, but only ended up actually waiting about 15 minutes. There?s a coffee shack next door, so we had coffees in handand didn?t mind the wait. Service is speedy and the menu is somehow both very in-depth and complete and very small. We orderedthe Blue Plate (special) Dutch Baby with lemon curd and strawberries plus side of bacon, and the mascarpone stuffed Frenchtoast. It?s no frills, but also gourmet. The prices at first glance seem a little steep, but it?s also a no-tippingestablishment, which evened it out. The two meals and coffee was about $32. Everything was delicious and the service was great. My only real complaint is that the space is small with an open kitchen, so it is loud. Doesn?t bother me, but something toconsider. Either way, we?ll definitely be back. Read more

Truly the best thing in the north woods of Wisconsin. Every menu option is delicious and the daily specials are above and beyond... delicious. While breakfast is their main game the burgers and jerk chicken are also fantastic. Worth a trip just to eat here. Read more
