Reviews for Applebee's Grill + Bar in Massillon, OH

So we get there at 9 for a friend's daughter's birthday dinner. The restaurant is practically empty. We are told because of the... size of our party we would have around a 1.5 hour wait. I ask why the long wait time with plenty of tables available. Thehostess replies with "we just had two large parties we need to give our kitchen staff time to catch up". I don't fullyunderstand this because more people walk in and are seated no problem. So we continue to wait more people are sat. We ask againif we can be seated because there is still more than half the restaurant that is empty. We are then met another excuse as to whywe can't be seated. This time it's because our party is too large and they only have two large tables they use for largeparties. We tell the manager we are more than okay with being split up into different tables. Nope can't happen now it willdisrupt the flow of the restaurant per the manager. So we end up waiting the full 1.5 hours while the restaurant sitspractically empty kids getting fussy and hungry. We get seated half the food we order they are out of because by this time it'salmost 11pm. The waitresses were great but by this time it was a struggle because now kids are tired and want to go to bed, wefelt rushed not to mention the bus staff asked if we could help them and bus our plates as we finish. Usually have a great experience here except this time I was utterly disappointed. My Alfredo tasted more like broccoli than... Alfredo and my breadstick had obviously been sitting for at least an hour before i got it. It's stale. Never got the mashedpotatoes I ordered, had waited 10 minutes just for them to take our orders for drinks. Waited another 20 minutes for ourappetizer which was barely warm and a caesar salad with barely any sauce, finally we got our disappointing meals and we'vecurrently been waiting for about 20 minutes for her to come check on us. She doesn't clean up after herself. Wish I got a fullrefund. Absolutely disappointing. Read more

Tuesday 6:00pm. Hardly anyone in the restaurant. We were told there be a 20 min. wait. Got seated, took a half hour to have... our order taken. Order( not hot) boneless wings. Brought out our order, boneless wings covered with hot sauce, couldn't eatthem. Would of sent them back,but no waitress around. Don't know what happened to this place, but it sucks big time. So this review isn't for Applebee's as a while but particularly this one in Massillon Ohio. We arrived around 945 p.m and was... told there was a 10 min wait when there was more tables open then was seated. So after 23 min we finally got seated. About 15min after that our server finally came to take our drink order and at that point we were ready to order. Order our food and took45 50 min to get it when there was only a total of maybe 15 people in the building. So finally we get our food and they saythere out of silverware and gave us plastic stuff. Over all I expect either great service or great food and this place didn'thave either of those and I been here a few different times. Read more

We went for dinner. The wait time was 15 minutes. We tried the tipsy reindeer and the strawberry merry swirl. Both drinks were... good. The strawberry merry swirl gave my friend brain freeze! Lol. We also tried the cheetos cheese curds and flaming hotcheetos boneless wings. Both were good, but looked nothing like the commercial. The boneless wings weren't hot, so lucky me Ihad a few, the cheetos cheese curds were set atop a pool of grease. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium well. The garlicmashed were a little lumpy, Our waitress/server Brandi M. was friendly, attentive and made sure we received our food fresh andhot. Price to value was accurate. Not bad for a date night. Ordered to go medium rare it?s like eating powdered beef it?s so dry plus I paid $23 and I didn?t even get my drink. At least... the broccoli is good but you can see it?s chard black. Medium rare is like three minutes or less on each side. Read more

Pleasant dining experience. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Our server, Jamie, was outstanding. She was attentive... and kept our water and iced tea filled. Our meal was delicious. I had the Lime chicken bowl. The portions were large andfilling. Our fries did arrive cold, but were promptly replaced with hot fries. They were very good.
