The last 2 meals I have eaten here were great and so was the service. The fish stands on it's own and doesn't need tartar sauce... the batter is so tasty. A little lemon and it's perfection. Great greek salad option and poutine is good too. Also had theirdeep fried cheese curds as an appetizer and they were yummy too. The pasta is homemade ... and has the best Alfredo sauce. Do not miss this! So wonderful we went back for breakfast. Excellent.... Generous serving of bacon with the traditional breakfast my partner had. I had absolutely perfect french toast, fluffy and withgood thick slices of bread. Wish we had time for more but we were quite full each time. When passing through Mattawa this is awonderful location for the excellent food and the views. Over the long weekend, my girlfriend and I decided to do a nice little getaway. The hotel was beautiful and had a very homey... vibe to it. The view was immaculate and the food was great. Definitely a nice little quiet and quaint place for a getaway fromthe city. Will 100% be back Read more
Can we give 6 stars? The most beautiful location and a wonderful team. We stopped here during our drive across country so we... didn?t have a reservation. The rate was super reasonable ($115), room was clean and there was a great restaurant on site.There?s also a dock for guests, patio chairs and picnic benches. Sat in and had the most amazing fish, great batter! The only thing is, you must start making your own tartar, it's so easy to... make. Only use those pre-packaged ones for take-out. Great food and great service. Definitely worth the stop. Read more
We had dinner in the restaurant only. The dining room has lovely view of the Ottawa River. The dining area has been... redecorated and the 1970s wood tables and captains chairs have been replaced by a more modern asthetic. The floors too havebeen redone and look lovely, though they still slant endearingly in places. Hubby and I had the fish and chips. They herb thebatter and the flavour is really nice. Not all of hubby's chips were freshly made though, some had that twice deep-friedtexture (extra hard). I had caesar salad with mine and it was quite good. Kiddo had the burger and they were able to modify itfor their gluten free needs by providing lettuce wrap, which was greatly appreciated. Service was friendly and professional. Read more
