We have been here many times since it has opened. First thing they do is take your beverage choice thing bring your free salsa... and tortilla chips so you have something to munch on. Your order is taken and usually within 15 minutes or so your lunch/ ordinner is brought to you. We have tried so many different things. This is the go-to, gold standard of Mexican restaurants in Mattoon. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is casual yet not... ostentatious and the food is very good. I like that the place isn't run down and that I don't feel like I have to take a showerafter eating here. They have pretty much the same offerings as nearly every other Mexican restaurant in the area, but, they'redoing it right and they're doing it at a reasonable price. Read more
This place is authentic Mexican cuisine. They have an extensive menu that would cover the pickiest eater, even vegetarians and... vegans. The seating is comfortable bench/booth that is roomy on both sides of the table. You get warm chips and salsa as soon asyou are seated. I always ask for a bowl of white cheese for the chips, it's an additional cost, but tasty! The meal is served ina reasonable amount of time after ordering, and the check comes in a reasonable amount of time too, so you're not waiting for it but you aren't feeling rushed either. Read more
Long wait to be seated, long wait to place order, and long wait to get food. We did go on a weekend, but I've never experienced... such a long wait to order and get my food at a Mexican restaurant. Every time we asked the waitress for something her reply was"we can try." (We're didn't request much, stuff like extra napkins folks) Just to get chips and salsa took awhile. Best Hispanic food I've had in a long time. Being from Texas and Louisiana I'm pretty picky about Hispanic food this place is... incredible. Service drinks cleanliness and food are all TOP NOTCH. Read more

Love the different types of meats and shrimp is always a must for me. I would of like more salsa but the food was still good.
