I have had Babz Bistro food at Turtleback Brewery so decided to stop in for a big lunch. OMG I should have brought more people.... Huge portions and really outstanding food. The fried carrot za'tar was delicious! Also had their BLT, pimento wontons, andsmoked pork-rice bowl. This food is some of the best I've had anywhere... including Chicago, San Francisco, and NYC. I don?t do this very often, but for the sake of foodies in the Maysville and southern Ohio area I found a new spot! I know it... doesn?t look like much, but this place has the best fried green tomatoes I?ve ever tasted in my life! Matt got the ?SentimentalJourney??a spicy pork and rice bowl. I got the ?Shalom Maysville? which is smoked salmon over rice with an amazing thai saucewith fried red cabbage. I?m telling you-amazing! They?re located in Maysville as you are heading into Kentucky across the oldbridge, it?s essentially straight across the first intersection in an alley (you do make a very brief left then an immediateright into an alley). We?ve been there twice now and last night brought my parents from Dayton. We drove 45 minutes one way justto eat there and it was worth every second of the commute! The young couple Barbara and Al that own it are, aside from beingamazing chefs, are incredibly nice!!! Don?t judge a book by its cover! This place is absolutely amazing! Super great for a datenight. Our family just moved here, and were surprised to find out there was a local food truck less than a block from our house. Today... while walking our dog, I passed by it and decided to give it a try! I ordered the Sentimental Journey option, it was a largeportion (5lbs - I weighed it out of curiosity lol) and was delicious and unique! Alex was pleasant to talk to, as well! Babz and her husband have one of the best food truck offerings I have ever seen. They are both amazing chefs and I am confident... they will have their own 5 Star restaurant in the near future. Ample helpings, delicious, healthy and tasty menu items. Babzharvests her herbs on site! This place is unassuming, yet exceeds expectations in every way. Highly recommend! Read more
I am a bit late to the game with visiting Babz Bistro as I have only recently moved here, so today was my first visit. Aside... from being very nice people, the food is Delicious! I had the "Limestone " bowl with added smoked salmon on top of half rice andhalf greens, and a French onion soup. They kindly put an added bonus of a strawberry ,coconut brownie in the bag, everythingwas excellent! Just had Babz for the first time. I typically take pictures but the food, service and conversations with the owners stole my... attention. Please do yourself a favor and go try it!
