Had lunch with 6 friends...Ate the fish fry..the fish was delicious, but the potatoe pancakes were not so good so got seconds on... the fish...all you can eat fishfry on Fridays! Our waiter was excellent! It is a beautiful setting. Read more
Just so terrrible! Cold soggy fried fish, horrid service!! It took 3 HOURS to be served our meal AND it wasn't very busy.... Firstly it took someone 5 minutes just to greet us while a relative in a walker waited patiently standing. Several employees sawus waiting but they carried on with other tasks, not even a "hello". The server was nice but overworked and super spacey andcontinually forgot about us. The manager woman mid 40's with short blonde hair and gross exercise pants on with a brown stain onthe back said she would bring us plates bc she saw we didn't have any but SHE NEVER DID so we just passed the food around andate with our hands. Never will be patronizing again, many other good restaurants in McHenry we should have went to instead. Thefried fish came out cold and soggy. Everything was awful. I came upon this restaurant when out working in the area. The entrance looked very plain, but inside it was very nice and clean,... well taken care of to be sure. I liked the golf club display at the entry which taught me about Taylor Made's history inMcHenry. There is a lot of space for a small wedding banquet. When I went, it was very quiet as it was not the height of summer.The food was not too expensive for a country club restaurant open to public, portion size was great, and fries were crispy. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE?Recently held a post-funeral celebration of life event at Metalwood Grille with ~100 people. Absolutely... terrible experience with the space and staff. We spent countless hours putting together memorial video content that would beshown on the provided projector. This was discussed with the manager and event staff in advance and was agreed that a projectorwould be provided. Upon arriving, they didn?t not have a projector available for us to use and continued to lead us on sayingthat they were ?working on finding one?. We had to scramble and setup our own projector and cords in order to show the videoinstead of spending our time with family and friends during the time there. Additionally, the microphone, speaker and musicdidn?t work properly and the staff was not available to assist the entire time. Upon expressing our frustrations while we werethere, we reached out to the manager following the event to discuss what happened and to see what they could do about it. Afterexchanging emails and texts to setup a time to talk, the manager (Monica Kornfeind) refused to answer the phone and any texts oremails that we sent. We called, texted and emailed over 10 times!
