Deliciously different... Maine lobster and sea scallops with pasta and curried roasted cauliflower, all complemented by Sazerac... martinis. Then upstairs for live jazz and Old Fashioneds. Not bad for a steamy Friday night! Read more

Husband & I didn’t eat downstairs, though it looked beautiful and very classy. We went upstairs to the bar & lounge.... Atmosphere was nice. Waitresses were friendly. Bar tender, however, was NOT warm, friendly, or welcoming at all. We stood at thecorner of the bar for a good two minutes, while he was looking directly at us, and not once did he greet us or invite us to sitdown. Once we decided we’d sit down, there was no greeting, just “What do y’all want to drink?” On the plus side, thedrink was nice & stiff - big props for that, especially since the one drink was $10. I was in the service industry for manyyears, and let me tell you, the number one job of a bar tender is not mixing drinks, it’s being a warm, welcoming host, andeven friend (or at lease pretending to be). Not once did he ask if we were there meeting friends, or celebrating something, oranything at all. We probably would’ve ordered more drinks if he’d been at all sociable. But frankly, we couldn’t wait forthe rest of our party to arrive so we could leave the bar, and his presence. Also, for how great the rest of the place looks, the spirits display is lacking, to say the least! You can barely see the selection b/c it’s not properly lit, and the partthat is lit looks AWFUL. The menus are super fancy and light up when you open them - I was amazed!! And even further amazed thatthey would put so much effort into everything else, all the way down to the menu, and let the bar display look as run down andtrashy as it does. It looks like it belongs in a dive bar. I personally love dive bars, but that’s clearly NOT the look thisplace is going for. Read more
