My group really liked this place. We were biking the Hart to Montague trail and this restaurant wasn't too far from the trail.... The waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The food was quite good. American standard.Appetizers: we loved the onion rings and deep fried mushrooms. Mixed reviews on the loaded potato skins and jalapeño cheeseballs. Lunch: blt was good, but bacon was very crunchy. Mushroom Swiss Burger and Rodeo Burger were thoroughly enjoyed. Theburger patties were monstrous! And the buns were delicious! Fries were good. Have them make you a cherry lemonade (lemonade withgrenadine). Very yum! We highly recommend this restaurant! Read more

Great little spot to grab a meal. Service was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Wife had the fresh perch and it was... hot and delicious. Daughter had the beer and cheese soup and the chicken Alfredo which was also tasty (huge portion). Son hadthe kids cheeseburger which he crushed. I had the open faced hearth burger which was not bad. The molten chocolate dessert wasfantastic. Warn chocolate cake with hot fudge and caramel sauce with a side of vanilla ice cream. The kids destroyed it. Candefinitely recommend this one! Read more

I have driven past this place for 10 years. Finally stopped and tried it out. I feel like a big idiot. The food was great! Our... waitress was wonderful, engaging, funny. I could eat basket after basket of the fried asparagus, absolute best I've ever had.Best place to eat in the surrounding area hands down. Wish I had stopped in sooner. Read more

I ordered the beer battered Shrimp and my friend ordered the perch and we shared some deep fried asparagus that was freshly... picked from the farm down the road. Great food, fantastic staff, and a great overlook over the orchards surrounding. Read more

At this restaurant you buy your onion rings by length and then they bring out the onion rings on a pole of the length of onion... rings that you ordered. I thought this was a fantastic experience. Everybody else made fun of me because I only ordered 6 inchesof onion rings. One weird thing is that it is located on top of the gas station. That?s pretty cool. There were skateboardsall over the place there. Probably because they were on a big hill. Western Michigan is weird. Read more

We came to Silver Lake for a week of camping. The owner suggested Open Hearth and we are glad he did! I read excellent reviews... and saw a lot of good things about their fried asparagus. It?s seasonal and near the end, so I?m glad we ordered some. My wifeand kids don?t like asparagus but I do, and I demolished the entire order. Service is very friendly and the food was delicious!Beer was good too. Lake perch, grilled ham and cheese, and Caesar salad are featured in the pics (and the asparagus). My wifesaid nay-nay to me snapping a pic of her plate. We would definitely come back! Read more

First time here. Big nice clean place. We started off with the deep fried asparagus which was exceptional. I had the full slab... of ribs and my wife had the country beef melt. Good size portions, great sides. My wife loved her entree, the ribs were on thedry side. Wouldn't hesitate to stop in again. Read more
