Didn't have high expectations of a strip mall restaurant in Mechanicsville, but though the food was pretty good. Had the smoked... salmon salad (that I had to send back to remove the onions I had asked not to be added), and the salmon was fantastic. Kind ofwish this place looked nicer : pretty light fixtures, but erratic decorating (still renovating?) and there are nice plantsoutside, but are they part of the plant shop next door? Wouldn't wait in a long line to get in, but beats the other nearbyoptions. Read more

The food is fantastic every time! I always get the vegetarian eggs Benedict (I'm not a vegetarian) and it is consistently good.... Cute little place, very eclectic decor, and super popular. They do accept reservations although we have never needed to getthem. Read more
This was my 1st and possibly my last dining experience at Bell Cafe. Of course I didn't realize making a reservation was the... best way to dine in, so I ended up dining in the outside area. I realize they were extremely busy, but it took a long time toplace our order and we waited for over 30 minutes to get our food, which was cold. We sent it back and received fresh hot foodin less than 10 minutes. Didn't understand why it took so long the 1st time. One of the other servers came and told my partythat they compt our meals since our food was cold. Staff not extremely friendly. Gave 2 stars because the potatoes were prettygood. Have to say I was so disappointed because I love to support local businesses in Mechanicsville. ???? Read more
It was decent food and the place was cute. It was a little sparse inside but it was still inviting. It's a very popular place... though. I love that it's locally owned. The outside patio area is very inviting and the service here was pretty quick. They havea decent drink menu and my cream mimosa was really good. The food is decent as well. Our order for my family was the grilledcheese sandwich with shoestring fries, the caramel apple waffle, side of eggs, the cinnamon roll waffle and the cheddar biscuitswith sausage gravy and a side of breakfast potatoes.
