We have eaten takeout here several times and will definitely go back. My husband and I both had the patty melt sandwiches. I got... onion rings with mine. They are good, filling, sandwiches and with the sides are more than we eat in one sitting. The meal wasdelivered to our car in a timely manner, and my only complaint was my sandwich bread was close to being burnt but was stillgood. This was the first time that has happened. They have a large menu and has been a staple in Mechanicsville for as long as Ican remember, give them a try! Read more
I have never gone in and eaten. I always order door dash or to go. I order the same thing everytime. It is a bacon cheeseburger... cooked medium rare, no tomato and a side of fries. Every single time I order it, I get EXACTLY that. No fuss, no bs, no extrafrilly nonsense. A good, clean and simple burger as it should be. A good bun, good cheese, bacon (because I am a d*mn Americanand bacon is delicious), a good sized burger, cooked at the propee temperature. This cafe is extremely unclean. Opened my napkin to find this. Get a better dish washer.
Third time here, food is excellent. We?ve ordered the Chesapeake pizza twice and it is incredible! Unfortunately the strong... odor of whatever they?re cleaning the tables with is overwhelming and nothing like we?ve smelled anywhere else and we eat outALOT. It is such a shame that this odor is overriding the delicious food! Don?t think we?ll dine in anymore and agree that theplace is boring looking, heard that it used to have alot of character. Was there for the first time about a week ago. Coleman was my server and she was awesome. Very friendly and so polite. The... sandwich was on special and one of the best I?ve had in a good while. It was definitely a double ringer and a game winner. 2thumbs up! Read more
Our server was John and the food was absolutely delicious.. all of the ingredients were prepared fresh.. one of the cheese... sticks was empty on the sampler and the drum sticks were a little dry, however, everything else on the plate was great.. Realbacon on salad with special requests remembered and applied and LARGE chunks of blue cheese, literally the best I have had in aVirginian restaurant! My husband's steak was cooked over to medium when he ordered it med rare and the French Fries were kind ofhollow with not much potato to them.. the chicken parmesan was average and the pasta was a little watery.. we took the Gus'Special pizza to go it is very heavy and made Chicago style so not something I'm used to.. suggest the servers find a differentplace to stand as there was quite a large crowd of employees with not much to do Read more
We all know they have one of THE BEST PIZZA restaurants in Mechanicsville and maybe in all of Richmond, VA... The kitchen is... on...point!!! Consistently cooking great food every time we dine. But save room for dessert it is to die for !!
