On the way home from picking up supplies, we dropped into Lucharitos in Melville for some tacos. Ambience - brightly lit and... decoratively festive. Friendly staff that checked in on us frequently. Food: we ordered: The Nacho Man - ground beef taco. They were generous with the toppings, but some of the tortilla chips were stale. 3/5 Al Pastor Tacos - Marinated Pork withPineapple. The pork was flavorful but dry. 3/5 Carne Asada Taco - steak taco. This was also really dry. 3/5 Verdict: wewent there at 8:30 PM. This is the first time we eat here. We ordered Frida?s salad bowl with grilled chicken. There?s a lot of water on the bottom of... salad bowl to the point that it looks like soup in a bowl. We asked if this is normal. The waiter checked other veggies in thekitchen and he told us that the cook just took the vegetables right out of a bucket and water is dripping from it so it?s fresh.I rarely write a review before. However, this salad looks really gross and soggy and it does not look/ taste fresh at all. Wetried to soak in all the water with napkins to make it more presentable. Definitely not coming back. The service is alsomediocre. I think they really need to do a quality improvement of the food that they serve to customers. Read more
Came here for lunch on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table for two, the place was pretty much empty. I got the pork... burrito bowl which is a great sized portion for a fantastic price. The rest of the menu also sounded delicious and definitelyhas me itching to come back for more. The staff was very friendly and we got served in what felt like record time. I?ve been putting off coming here since they opened due to all the negative reviews and I am totally regretting it now after... today?s visit. But shoutout to our server, Michael, who was so nice and helpful. He recommended the mango habanero wings whichhe said were his favorite and I?m so glad we listened and got those because they were some of my most favorite wings. If youneed your wings to be more saucy, just use the mango habanero sauce that they offer as a sauce in their large assortment ofsauces on the side. I love when a spot offers lots of sauces on the side to choose from. I had the steak quesadilla saucedwhich just means they put chipotle Mayo and a green sauce on top of the quesadilla. It also comes with a small side of sourscream and guac as any good quesadilla should. Everything was extremely delicious, and I cannot wait to eat this again. Myhusband had a chicken burrito he didn?t love and Michael had that taken off for us. Overall awesome experience on a Sundayevening. We will be back! Read more
Went here on a Saturday night and sat outside (the heaters were great!). Jayda was our service and she was awesome! Lots of... friendly conversation and great service! We got the Saturday nacho special which was delicious, couldn't believe the size of theportion!! I had a mango margarita and it was great! Then for a main I had the chicken burrito bowl and added some shrimp to it,it was absolutely delicious and so so so fresh! Couldn't have been happier with the food! We ordered some food to go too (whichwas thoroughly enjoyed) and the system didn't print our ticket so we were waiting for quite a bit! Thankfully our server noticedand made sure it got to us! Such a lovely interior at this beautiful place! I?ve been meaning to try this restaurant once it opened and I?m glad I did! We... got the Chip Dip Trio which had queso, guac, and salsa. I do have to say that their chips were definitely on the hard side andafter a while hurt my mouth to chew. I also got a Mango margarita which for me was only okay. For mains, I got the Burrito Bowlwith Chicken which was really delicious! The chicken was super moist and flaky when you chewed and paired well with all theflavors. Read more
After months if driving by this place is finally open! Woo! The atmosphere was very good here. Everything was clean, and the... staff were all super friendly. I ordered the Lucha style Fondido for a starter. The taste was very good and the dip portion theygave was very generous. My only complaint is that they gave a tiny handful of chips then charge me $2 for more. I also orderedthe duck tacos. A little on the expensive side but not many places serve duck tacos. The taste and portion size for these wasvery good. Overall I enjoyed this place. I'd come back and try some of the other foods they have. Read more
Came here on a Sunday evening, around 7 P.M. Decorated and lit nicely for Christmas with pretty trees. Metal chairs seem cold... for a winter night, but overall atmosphere is enticing. Vibe fell somewhere between Key West and Miami. Was contemplatinggetting a drink, but at $13 plus, decided against...especially on a Sunday night. If they would have had a drink special, Iwould be in. Place was close to empty, especially considering all of the Holiday shoppers in the Route 110 area. Only threeother parties there. Food was very fresh and tasty. Server barely came to check on us; my husband did have to get up to get hotsauces, ask for check, and then search out someone to run our credit card. Only one bartender, and one server, and they wereboth somewhere in the kitchen/back frequently. Guessing they were packaging take-out food??? To wrap this up, I'd say awesomeplace to take a date, or girl's night out. Not cheap though! Read more
