Reviews for India Palace in Memphis, TN
Food great. Staff great. Honestly wholesome and great experience here, I’ve been to a few other Indian food places and this... place is amazing. What I can only presume as the owner came to our table after we had finished eating and asked how we liked ourfood, and after we said it was amazing, he brought over these amazing FREE mango milkshakes. Great vibes will be back! Read more
This place is definitely ok. The buffet and food is amazing so going during lunch is your best option but the naan bread were in... baskets that was moldy and I think dusty? I would like to love this place but dusty baskets to place food in isdisgusting. Sadly won’t be back unless they change the baskets. Read more
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Memphis. The family that owns it is so kind and the food makes me happy on my worst... days. I just picked up an order I placed and was given extra samosas and a mango lassi just as a treat. The food is incredibleand is delicious as leftovers a win all around in my book! Read more
The service was a little slow at first. I eventually got a menu?, however, upon ordering the complete dinner that includes naan... bread, chicken, sliced onions, kabob, rice, sauce etc. and a salad I ordered on the side, surprised me at how fast it allarrived! The food tasted good and was enough for two! I would return here again to experience more menu items. I like the muralsof elephants and tiger. ???????? Read more
Had the buffet, nothing was at all spicy, but everything was delicious. Servers were attentive to perfection. I am not of Indian... descent, but I do love the food and this was excellent. Enjoy! Read more
Visiting from out of town for work. Worst chicken tikka masala I have ever had. It didn’t even look or taste like any I have... ever had. It also wasn’t hot as requested. Almost tasted like butter chicken, not chicken tikka masala. Didn’t like it atall. Tasted like some white people made it. The samosas were good though. Read more
Confession. Returning to Memphis and leaving the vast number of ethnic restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area has been a... major disappointment. Even the sub-par restaurants in the Bay Area exceed most of the restaurants in the area. We decided tovisit India Palace because it was touted as the best Indian food in Memphis. If that is a true statement, I won't try anotherIndian restaurant. My favorite dish was the Basmati rice. Does that tell you something. The buffet was lackluster with just afew choices, mostly chicken in sauces. Staff was not welcoming, pointing to a table for us to seat. No samosas, tandoorichicken, anything extra for a variety of dishes. I realize that restaurants are experiencing challenges but this food did notwork for me. Even the naan was bland. The buffet just seemed half-hearted. No return visit for us. Read more
The buffet was overpriced. It was the weekend when we stopped by for lunch. The food quality was not good at all. Number of... items was also less. Not satisfied at all, don’t wanna go back. Update: even though I promised not to eat here, I orderedagain a biriyani for my lunch through Uber eats. The food came as usual. It was the worst biriyani in my life! A plate of shrimpbiriyani - rather a red colored smelly rice with some overcooked shrimps in it. Shrimp sizes were decent. But the rice wascolored and smelled like weird. There was no smell from any spices or a typical biriyani essence to it. It was something which Ifail to describe it as a biriyani! Update: again I broke my promise, and ordered aloo paratha through the Uber eats! And guesswhat! Their consistency is great! This time also the food was pathetic. They just sent the paratha - no pickle, no raita/ yogurtnothing! And the paratha had no taste, felt like a bit undercooked . I couldn’t find any stuffing layer inside! Again, mymoney was wasted ???? P.S. I was born and raised in india. So I have enough knowledge of true Indian food and I’m prettymuch skilled in Indian cooking. Read more
