Let me just start out by saying me and my fiancé visited here 9/25 We both loved the atmosphere the food everything was great... with the exception of our greeter who seated us and who also was our waiter. As a Chef who has been in the restauranteurbusiness for over 15 years I love going out any time I can with my family me and my fiancé love trying new restaurants. Thewaiter seemed to be really on the edge from the beginning of our visit. Firstly he sat us somewhere he never should have simplybased on the obvious. I’m a great judge of character I could tell our waiter was feeling a way when I asked to move toanother table but he kept face but I could tell he was trying to keep his composure but I could tell something wasn’t rightwith him he seemed to get irritated when we asked for something that we needed for instance we ordered soup for 2 that had udonnoodles but only received one spoon and no chopsticks to grab the noodles I asked for another spoon he got nice nasty with mewhen asking for another he not only brought me another he also gave a creepy smile as he slowly stuck in the soup bowl I’mlooking at the spoon and it had a crumbs on it like he did something to it before he brought it out: I’m praying he didn’tbut that moment really made me a type of way but instead I just prayed over my meal and wiped the spoon off he made meuncomfortable with asking for anything so we just decided we would take our soup home and eat it later. So then the food comesout and everything looks delicious and tastes as good as it looks so the rest of the night was beautiful we sat at a tableseated that could see every angle of the street. Now it’s time to go so we ask for Togo containers he brought out what weneeded so that was great my fiancé asked for 3 sauces Togo because she said they were really good he mumbled okay and as hewalked off I was still looking at him and he bawled his fist up and mumbled something as he walked off. Always an enjoyable time at Mulan. The staff are friendly and attentive always the same faces. The salad has the freshest ginger... carrot dressing and the red bird sushi roll is one of my favs. I always order the young roll which is my #1 but today I did adiff. I called them and placed my order for dinner and then picked up. The place looks a bit shiny, upscale, and hip. I’m sure dine... in experience would have been much better. The food was a bit expensive in comparison to other Chinese restaurants, however, thefood is really good. Be it the quality, freshness, good ingredients, preparation, portion size everything is top. We orderedhouse special chowmein and a spicy fried chicken. Both the dishes were terrific. I would highly recommend the place and I myselfwill definitely go back. Update: I ordered again, and this time also the food was great. Major update: after ordering foodfrom this place quite a few times through Uber eats, this time I went on-site in the restaurant for dine in experience. The foodwas food, so the ambience. It was nice little family set up. They should have security though because some unruly guy came in extremely rude as hell. The... food was pretty good I did not like their sushi. It tasted old and made yesterday instead of today. I would give them a try ifyou have never had them. Read more
We have not been to the midtown Mulan for a while, but frequently to the new one near Target. I wanted to give a quick review on... the high quality and excellent taste of the entrees which somehow exceed that in the new location. Keep up the good work! Read more
I had sincerely high hopes for this place it had been recommended to me time and time again. But honestly, it was very... disappointing. I ordered the twice cooked pork, and the dinosaur roll. My friend had the sesame chicken with chicken fried rice.My roll was subpar and the "green mix" was bagged lettuce. My pork tasted old, and kind of sour so I asked if I could haveanother dish because I didn't want to waste the trip. The waitress wasn't very happy about it but she substituted it for anorange shrimp for me. When I say this was unbelievably spicy, it was insane. The amount of chili for the amount of shrimp wasjust unreasonable. I eat a lot of spicy foods, like challenge noodles for fun spicy foods and this compared to that it was sounpleasant, the pile on the top of my plate is all chilis. My friends chicken fried rice was bland and cold (which they chargean extra $2 for chicken so that was even more disappointing) their sesame chicken however was delicious so I'll give them that.I can't believe the trouble we had to go through just to have an inedible item taken off of our receipt, and even then at 18.95taken off the new check was only $17 less. We have been to the restaurants all around Mulan, but had never been there. They have a BOOMING take out business. We were able... to dine inside, with appropriate COVID measures. The food was, in a word, WOW!!!! Our waiter, Mark, was very well versed on themenu and extremely nice. The service was impeccable. When your Asian meal is cooked by Mr. Song you just know it’s gonna begood. His understanding of ingredients and how to layer them resulted in perfectly cooked shrimp and depth of flavors thatreaching the sublime. Owner Matt Kan and GM Monica Patrick have developed a great atmosphere right at home in the bohemianCooper-Young neighborhood of Memphis. Well worth a visit!! Read more
I came from out of town and all I can say is the best food I ever had in years. I highly recommend this place
