I can?t begin to say enough about this place. The food was amazing and beautiful presentation. The prices are a bit up there but... the coffee pork shoulder was out of this world. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fancy dinner in st paul. Read more

I like the patio of W.A. Frost. I have been there multiple times. Last time, I made a reservation and we learnt that it was... happy hour time when we were there. We were told that we need to move to the back of the patio if we are there for happy hour. They don?t serve from both menus in the main part of the patio. So we moved to the back of the patio where they serve happy hourmenu and regular menu together. We picked 5 items from regular menu and 1 item from happy hour. the service was terrible. Weordered sparkling rose and received regular sparkling wine. We ordered second drinks and nothing was complimentary or discounteddue to the mistake of the first orders. Then they charged 20% covid and health fee and asked tip on top of that. So, we sharedan appetizer and a salad and had 4 drinks for two people and paid more than 100usd w/o tip. Even though I like the atmosphereand food there, most probably I would think twice before going next time. Read more

For my money, W.A. Frost offers the best outdoor patio dining in the Twin Cities. Charming atmosphere, friendly and attentive... staff with great food, wine and cocktail selections. The salmon, red potatoes and tomato soup were to die for. Thank you. Untilnext time! Read more

Our first visit to the much-acclaimed patio at W. A. Frost far exceeded our expectations! We didn't have a reservation, but we... were easily able to find seating on the wicker furniture by the bar. They were very busy, but we didn't mind the relaxed pace ofservice at all. We shared the lemon pasta, which I'm still dreaming about, as well as an order of the sourdough (which I wishhad been a little less crunchy). I hope they never take that pasta off the menu! And then I had a flight of the orange wines, and my partner had a Japanese martini. Two unique drink options that we haven't seen at other local spots. I'd recommend W. A.Frost if you're looking for a fabulous patio and don't mind paying a little extra for the garden-like, intimate ambiance. I'llbe back for sure! Read more

What a find! The bar is beautiful when you walk in, but you truly can't appreciate the size until you take the stair... underground. The basement is huge, with several side rooms you can get privacy in with your group. What a fun place to get a fewdrinks at. Be sure to check out how beautiful the feeling is both bar level and in the basement, or should we call it a speakeasy! Read more

My fiancé took me here for Valentine?s Day and we had the BEST experience! Our server?s name was Matt and he was the most... knowledgeable and was able to describe with excellent detail how the food tasted and what was in each dish. We also chatted withanother server named Peter who shared the same passion for this restaurant as well as stories about the building and historybehind it (Matt was able to answer historical questions we had about the building as well). Both men made our experience withtheir genuine care and the time they gave us. It?s truly customer service that makes or breaks an experience for us. When youreceive your bill, there is an automatic 18% tip added that gets split among all the staff to help provide for the growing wage.PLEASE TIP YOUR SERVER IN ADDITION TO THIS!!!! Your server works their butt off to provide you with the service you hope for,and they deserve more than the couple bucks that they wind up with after the automatic tip gets divided among the staff. Thefood? what can we say? Incredible!!! Best pasta we?ve ever tried, an amazing pork shoulder, and superb brussle sprouts! Theatmosphere was beautiful with the architecture and all of the paintings by an artist who used his masterpieces back in the dayto entice people to travel the railroads to explore parts of the U.S. there is a sweet speakeasy-like dining area in thebasement that we explored after dinner. The food is more pricy but as long as know that beforehand, it?s worth a specialoccasion. Read more

I came here during restaurant week ordered a few things it was all delicious except my chicken was chewy that part I did not... like at all I hate frozen chicken that is not deforested all the way. I had to sit outside because I forgot my vac card in whichthat is understandable. the kind and handsome manager came and turned on the heater for me And the waiter was nice as well .They did let me step inside shortly to pay my bill and warm up and I was able to see the inside shortly. Yes I will definitelygo here again and I will remember to bring my vac card or a pic. Read more
