Ok..I love hot food. Especially chicken. This place is fresh and fast. Small menu. Nice and simple. The Very hot IS hot but kind... buries the rest of the taste. I had a piece of Hot and Mild and the Mild was the best. Had the most flavor. If Dave took the hotout of his chicken, I'd enjoy it more. It tastes like paprika, cayenne and chilli powder. Also, surprisingly, they don't carryranch. Hot chicken and no ranch!!?? Really? Anyway, it's good enough to try but I won't head back. Read more
Awesome tasty spot! I will continue to be a returning customer (have visited several times already) not many options on the menu... but everything on the me use is tasty. The seasoning on the chicken is on point, always crispy, juicy, and if you select thecorrect level of spiciness for your taste buds it makes the meal that much better (hot is the way to go) Read more
A well executed simple Hot Chicken menu. Dave's Hot Chicken lives up to the hype. I ordered the Dave's #3 and both my slider and... tender were moist with great flavor. The employees were friendly and the restaurant was clean. I would've liked to see an optionfor a combo with 1 tender or slider and fries as the portions are very large. Simple menu but wow the taste and food packs a punch! It was my first visit while in Milwaukee for work and I liken it to a... combination of Canes and Popeyes. I went all in and got the 2 sliders meal (one hot and one reaper), and was not disappointed inthe punch of the heat plus the flavor. The Dave's sauce was very similar to what Canes serves but in fancy, prepackagedpackets. The vibe of the store, the service and modern registers, even Cherry Coke on the fountain had me hooked as a mustreturn chain even more! ???? Read more
The restaurant was clean and it wasn?t too busy for just opening. We went during the week mid-day, very manageable waited maybe... 5 minutes for our food. They did however give us 2 vanilla shakes instead of one chocolate but it was still fantastic!(Recommend this sting with a spoon they?re thick) The chicken was hot, juicy and our medium spice level was perfect! There was a long line but it was worth the wait. The chicken was nice and juicy and had great spice. I got the "hot" chicken and... it was flavorful but not too hot to where you can't focus on the flavor. I liked both the slider and the tender but preferredthe slider. Dave's sauce is solid and goes great with the chicken and fries. The mac and cheese is not spectacular but a greatcompliment to a southern style meal. I will return. Read more
First time there. Great fast food style chicken that tastes better than you'd expect, and doesn't look fast-food! Great... presentation! Super clean and nice atmosphere. Service was great with friendly staff. Read more
