Mentone doesn't really have a place to get a pastrami sandwich. I remembered Heskas and went down and ordered one to go. It was... fabulous. I love her soft, home made rolls, they are the best. I highly recommend. Read more

If you live in the area and haven't been here yet, you are missing out! This was my third visit here, and every visit has been... fantastic. This visit, I ordered a hot sandwich - the Rueben. Look at the photo. It was delicious. Enough said. My partnerordered a cold sandwich - the Italian. She has a gluten allergy and asked for the sandwich without bread. They made it on a bedof lettuce. Fantastic stuff! The bread they use is made by them and branded with their logo. Seems to be a theme when arestaurant makes their own bread that the food also tastes delicious. Something about passion and love for the food, Iguess. They also do live music on Friday nights. Both of the owners are really fun to talk to. I used to go to nearby Starbucks to study during my son's soccer practice, however after discovering Heska's, I will be getting... my coffee and eats here from now on. Love this homey little spot and the owners are truly kind and welcoming. And last but notleast, the food was outstanding. Only tried the Mongolian Beef and Chicken sandwiches and an Apple coffee cake and thoroughlyenjoyed all of it. I look forward to trying more items on their menu. Read more
We're in love. Heska is a light in the world. Her and her husband's ability to share love in all they do is the type stuff... that changes this world into the one our hearts know it can be! Such fresh good food, such delicious, strong iced Americanos !Such a sweet cool, veranda at the end of a long weekend in the mountains and before a hot, long drive home to San Diego. Asthe driver I can tell you, I was so tired and not looking forward to it. This was So needed. We floated home safely and withsuch good energy all the way back! Truly an oasis! Clean bathroom. Delicious, especially for a 2-man show. Got some biscuits and gravy that were absolutely amazing, some of the best biscuits I've... had, and one of the richest, most flavorful mochas.
