Beef soup was amazing, love the fresh crisp vegetables, tender beef and the broth was umm. Sitting across from me we have a... beacon Hamburg with cheese, did not eat but tasted the meat, delivered a mouth full of real meat thickness and moisture onpoint. My daughter had a beef dip with fries, the fries were big and fully cooked, wonderfully done. My grand dauther had acrosaunt sandwich she loved it. But.....unless you want to be disappointed don't order the 1/2 sandwiches, big nonononono..justdon't. Read more
Wow!! I forgot how amazing the food is here at Paul?s Place. I?ll just start by saying that the scrambled eggs were prepared... just the way I like them, with butter. I had the Ham and Eggs Breakfast with Country Potatoes and a biscuit and gravy. Thebiscuit and gravy passed my breakfast test. The biscuit was thick and the gravy had great flavor. I got amazing service bySuzanne (Suzzy) who is super friendly and professional! I also had black coffee and a large orange juice. The orange juiceportion size was massive! Was forced to wait despite clearly visible open tables, then eventually sat at one of those open tables. Side salad was pathetic... with all of two cucumber slices, a precious few slivers of carrots and mixed greens which was primarily iceberg. Garlic frieswere edible but most of them were undercooked. A waffle and ham plate came out cold. Asked repeatedly for extra napkins to atleast two different servers and those were never brought. My wife went to front counter to pay and was ignored by not one buttwo staff members. Burger was good, hence rating not even lower. Read more
This was a really nice place for lunch. I took my brothers here for lunch, my younger brother is autistic, and they were very... kind to him. He can get a little loud and the waitress Thelma was very kind. The food was good too. Read more
Their employees were very polite our food was delicious. Hat off to the chef. We were served our food right away the waitresses... were very attentive and very nice. If you haven't been there do go there cuz the food was really excellent. Read more
This place is fantastic. The food and service is great. They knew when we needed a refill and to-go-plate without us having to... ask. I don't know why it took us so long to finally try this place. We don't try new places very much. We had the TexasSandwhich and the Hobo Rib. Everything had flavor. The soup didn't just tastevegetables boiled vegetabkes. Union rings were doneso good that even the batter had flavor (I usually find that fried batter just tastes like fried bread crumbs). I wish I couldcook mushrooms and bellpepper that were that good. Excelent! The soup was really homemade and fresh, fried calamari awesome! Great tartar sauce. Coffee fresh! Any time of the day... you can get breakfast lunch or dinner. Prices are fair. My husband and I of course, say it is a delicious carrot cake. Thanksfor the service. We have a very good time. Place and environment is taking care of us keeping social distance between tables.Clean restrooms. Not a busy place and they deserve more clientele. Believe in this review is sincere. Thanks! This establishment has been in Merced for years. Food is very good and plentiful (had the the pork chops with eggs, hash... browns, biscuit & gravy--enough for leftover small breakfast tomorrow)! Only complaint: my food was lukewarm (but stilldelicious). Checked out the pies too--had a piece of pecan pie (delicious). Pies by piece or whole. Read more
