My husband & I were very pleased with your comfortable & up-to-date furnishings & decor. The room coffee provided was less than... pleasant though & we wished there had been fresh brewed coffee available in your lobby. We also enjoyed a couple drinks in yourlovely bar area although your prices were very high. We will recommend your place to others though, overall, very nice! Read more
I agree with Vicky's review. We also stopped to have dinner on a Saturday evening with eight of us. One couple was staying at... the motel. It took forever for a server to come over and then a long long time for salads, and eventually our food. While thefood was decent quality, having to walk around the restaurant to flag someone down every time you need something it's not theway to run things. We had a shorter blonde server stop by..we were clearly not her table... who seem to be the only oneactually working in the entire place. We did thank her for taking care of us. We were there later in the evening so there wasno reason for the delay they were not that busy. Even if they only had one cook he or she could have taken care of things wayfaster than what happened. I agree, skip this joint unless you have an entire day to sit in a restaurant. Read more

Arrived last year late without reservations and they could not have been more accommodating. Our only disappointment was being... too late to eat as their menu was fabulous and the dining room so cozy. Wanted to come back this year but as we are operatingour own little cafe/bar and found help too hard to come by so couldn't get away. Thankful never to have had anyone complainabout our wait times or slow service. Everyone is trying so hard with fewer workers. Not an easy time to be in the serviceindustry! We absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE!! Food, cleanliness, and service are consistently above and beyond. The new chef has taken... dining here to a new level with more daily seasonal specials while keeping the old favorites. We have yet to be disappointed!! Hands down, the best of the Northwoods. We enjoyed dinner 2 times during our week in Mercer. Being open on Monday was the first draw for us. Our dinner that night was... very good. My filet was tender and done well and my husband's ribs were fall off the bone tender. We returned for our last nightin Mercer and his rib eye was awesome and I recommend the Walleye. My husband and I had company for the weekend and wanted to take them someplace nice to eat. We had never been here before and... the reviews looked good. We arrived at about 7:15pm and was promptly seated. We were done looking at the menus when the waitresscame to take our drink orders never inquiring if we were ready to order. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to get 4 drinks,( none alcoholic). She left the drinks and left again never inquiring if we were ready to order. By the time we ordered we hadbeen there approximately 40-45 minutes. I had to inquire if we were getting our soup before our meal, it took that long. Finally our soup arrives, we are done eating our soup and it took another 15-20 minutes to get our meal. My steak was wrong buteverything else was good. The waitress never ask if we would like refills on drinks. I asked to speak with the manager who cameto our table. I explained everything and she stated she needed to go to the person above her. That person never came out justtold her give them a discount. I must add there were only 4 tables occupied. For the price you pay there (4 people $145.00 fornothing out of the ordinary) they were extremely slow and the waitress tried to make up excuses. Our stay in the motel room was perfect after a day on the trails. Clean, amenities as needed, quiet (except for rude very early... morning talkers and that was not the motels fault). We did not use the restaurant or bar service but heard it was excellent! Would stay again. Read more
