Really good chicken fried steak and great service. Their ice tea was really good too. The dining room is very simple and the ice... machine is pretty loud but it was a very pleasant experience nonetheless. About as down home Texas country as it gets. Highlyrecommend. Read more
I have been in 6 different States over the last year and sure missed Texas food. Skeets has 4 locations in and around Abilene.... The location in Merkel was very clean, service was great as was the food. It was also a bargain. A large chicken fried steak,loaded baked potato, roll and small salad, $10. Read more

The food and the setting is fantastic. The waitress was a little preoccupied and was not very attentive. We wanted desert but... was never asked and I had to get up to get my own to go box. The cook nailed it though!! Read more
Great spot after abilene heading west on 20.. worth a stop. Try the corn ribs
