The service was great the day of our visit and we had a large group. The server was very pleasant and took our drink and food... orders very efficiently. He was very pleasant and helpful. The kitchen staff was very quick to get our food to us quickly andtasty. The only negative thing that I observed is that the portion size was smaller than before but with increased costs to therestaurant its higher prices or less on the plate. This is a cute little diner. If you like diner food then I highly recommend stopping in. I can say every time I pass Merritt I... will want to stop in here for food. We arrived about an hour prior to closing and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Our food came quickly and it was... delicious. The turkey dinner was great, and my children enjoyed the various sandwiches. Read more
A big disappointment mostly due to expectations of experiences from years past. Many years ago (2001) on a cross country tour... with a young family, we stopped by the Hope Bc location one morning. After too many meals at a campsite, the kids were thrilledto have a real restaurant breakfast provided to them. The parents liked it too. This time it was just the parents in MerrittBC. Got the morning special. Scrambled eggs were chopped and dry. The bacon was so crisp it hurt the inside of your mouthwhen you ate it. The homefries were flavourless and nondescript. The buttered toast was probably the best part of themeal. For the price you got a decent amount of food even if at a low quality of preparation. Service was kind and attentive. Read more
Immediately upon entering we were greeted and asked if we had a reservation. We didn't have a reservation and were immediately... seated. Our server came and obtained our drink order and returned soon after with our drinks. Our breakfast order was taken andthe server then left. Meanwhile many servers stopped to ensure our coffee cups were filled. Our server came with our meals. They were hot and exactly as expected. I ordered the mountain man breakfast, it was excellent. Lots of diner classics on the menu. The club house sandwich was excellent. I recommend adding a side of gravy.

I visited the Home Restaurant location in Merritt, BC today. I travelled from Kelowna to enjoy a nice drive while the weather... was still nice. I had Colleen as my server. She was attentive and friendly. I can tell the locals enjoy her banter and friendlyface. I would return to have her as my server.
