It's been years since I've been here, so I was enthused to return. I went for lunch at 11:45am, and there were only a few other... patrons. The food was good, the service was good - once the server came by the first time. I sat for perhaps 10 minutes beforeanyone came by. For lunch, I was in a hurry, so the wait was not appreciated. However, once I ordered, the food came out veryquickly. Stop by - you will enjoy it too! Read more

I went to this location on Sunday and could not believe how quickly it went downhill. The restaurant was dead and there were... three employees all sitting down at the front. They said it would be 15-20 minutes for a table or we could seat ourselves in thebar. We had three children with us and would have preferred normal seating, but went upstairs to avoid the wait. We peeked downfrom the top and saw only one table was taken in the whole downstairs and the rest were clean, so I am still unsure why it wouldtake so long to get seated. Anyways, we went upstairs and ordered a few appetizers. The dip trio was awful. The green salsa wasrotten, all adults confirmed. The cheese dip was not melted, it was hard and cold chunks. The guacamole was brown. I mentionedthe green salsa being rotten to the waitress (as that was the worst of the three) and she offered to bring beans instead whichwere better. She said the chef claimed it was not rotten but that the lime is what I am tasting. I know the difference betweenrotten and lime, as do the other adults at the table who have all ordered this trio before without issues. We still had no menusabout 20 minutes after getting our appetizers. The rest of the food was equally garbage. I love salt and over salt everything, but the green chile pork stew was too salty for even me to eat. My husband and friend who were with us couldn't get past onebite. Even after mentioning that it was not edible, the waitress laughed it off. We were charged full price for the two disheswe sent back as inedible. The kids' food was cold and soggy. Save your money and go somewhere else. The prices have gone up andthe quality has gone down. No one working there seems to care... Read more

Location does make a difference! We went to a Macayo's on the west side of the metro and loved it! This location is closer to... home so we were excited to try it. Very disappointing. The service was ok but the food was not near as good. The chips at theother location were warm and delicious. The chips at this location were cold and verged on stale. We'll keep looking for aMexican restaurant on the east side. Read more

My waitress was wonderful. She was attentive when necessary, and kind. The frozen margaritas were delicious, and I’m usually... picky on the taste of Magarita’s because many places over use the sweet and sour. Definitely will go back when cravinganother. I bought the Macayo’s Magarita cups because I thought they were cute. Ended up with two males instead of one of eachgender because they were out of the females. My steak fajitas were perfect, there was a good amount of the veggies and steak. Ialso think many places give you more veggies and less meat when fajitas are ordered. My son is usually hard to get him to eathis meals, but he almost finished everything this time. The child’s plate with 1 each: chimichanga, tostada, taco, and 1 side.My mom ordered a tostada and ground beef taco with one side. She felt she would have ordered a shredded beef or steak tacoinstead. I love that they have an outside patio by the lake, it’s nice to have that option. Will utilize the patio when itgets nicer outside for sure. Overall it was a good experience. Will be going back to this Mesa location again for sure. Read more

Not the most exciting or flavorful food but it's fresh and the service is awesome. The patio is really nice on the lake.

I never thought I would say this but this place is going down. I have to find a different place. To start I loved the tamale... bites but they have started making them tiny and raised the price of them. It's over a dollar for the little thing sitting in myhand in picture. As you can see along with the ramikin the bits sit in the small center of that little bowl. Enchalada is thelength of my finger and tostada is super small to. 11.99 for these small things and 7.49 for tamale bits... What a rip off. Read more
