This place is legit. My mom is British and I lived in England as a kid, and I haven’t been able to find food like this since I... left. I went in and got a hot chicken pot pie pasty with a side of gravy and it was excellent. I took home some frozen sausagerolls, a scotch egg, and a vegetarian pasty. All of it has been amazing! The only thing was that I thought the frozenvegetarian pasty I ordered was cheese and onion, and it turned out to be a vegetable medley one. No big deal - I ate it anywayand it was great lol. Next time I’ll specify cheese and onion. Another helpful idea would be to give reheating instructionswith frozen items. Even a half sheet of paper or a QR code linking to directions online would be great. I was able to Googlesome instructions so it wasn’t a huge deal. All in all, I will definitely be a repeat customer! Read more

I had really high hopes for Sonson's. My sister-in-law flies in from Fresno a few times a year and we always like to find... British food for her since she was born and raised in England. We arrived on a Monday around 11am. There were 4 ladies workingon making the pasties. They were not welcoming, and when we would try to start a conversation with them, they were very "short"with their answers. None of them had a British accent, so assuming none of them were the owners. We ordered, and when Iordered the one I've been dreaming of (cottage pie), they were out. We told them we'd wait, but they acted like they reallydidn't want us to wait and made us feel like we had to make another selection. We then asked for a sausage roll, something mysister in law was super excited for, and were told very abruptly that they were only available frozen, not sold freshly made. She was very disappointed, so we bought 2 frozen to make at home. Finally, they seemed annoyed that we would be dining in andnot taking it to go. They have 3 tables inside, and alot of tables outside with umbrellas, but none of the umbrellas were open. Cute outside area, though. Overall, the taste of the pasties was good. But the experience was enough to make us hesitant toever return. Read more

I grew up eating homemade authentic pasties. There's also a few other places in town that do a pretty good job making pasties. I... tried 3 different ones from Sonson's and was very disappointed. Way to much salt, there's something off about the dough, andthey simply did not taste that good. I very rarely write a bad review but quite frankly I feel that their food is an insult tomy heritage. Absolutely lovely! Just like nan used to make. Real sausage, special recipe. Comfort food at its finest. Highly recommended.... They're well out in the east valley, but worth the trip. They have frozens you can take home and bake, too. Read more

First time eating here and it was great. Talking to the nice lady behind the counter this place has been open for 4 years. It's... one mile from my house and I've never seen it before. They need to do some better advertising so more people can enjoy thesepastys. Read more

Update: I contacted the owner as she requested on here and she offered a refund and followed through on her offer. I appreciate... her making things right. The owner was very nice and for that reason I won't write the place off completely. The flavor of thepastry and filling was good, it just needed more filling. perhaps I just tried them on an off day. Thank you to the owner forfixing things. Stopped by for lunch to go. There were hardly any hot pasties to choose from, so we got 2 hot and 1 to bake. Thepotato and onion pasty was very dry and had way too much pastry and not enough filling. The flavor wasn't horrible if you couldget enough filling in each bite to actually taste it. It wasn't very fresh and at $8.50 I don't think it was worth it. My momgot the philly cheese steak but she said it tasted like chicken pot pie for $11. There was hardly any meat, just mush inside. Wealso got a carrot cake which was also dry and tasted a few days old. The person at the counter was nice enough but seemedextremely nonchalant and had to repeat my questions to the other person to get any answers. I used to live in England and reallywas craving a good Cornish style pasty, this was not it unfortunately. $34.11 for 3 pasties and a carrot cake that I could havepurchased frozen from a grocery store and gotten a similar flavor for a lot less $$. I would not recommend it. Read more

Finally checked this place out today and thought it was great. The place is clean and nicely decorated. They make the pasties... where you can watch everything they do. They have a neat outdoor seating area. The staff were all friendly. Most importantly, the pasties were delicious. They offer dine in and take out with some pre-prepared items ready to go. Sort of a neat find in ashopping center I would never have guessed would have such a good spot. Read more

Ohhhhhhh my goodness!! This is definitely a hidden treasure! We happened to be in the area and thought we'd give it a try. I've... had pasty's before from another local restaurant and these blew that place away!! The outside was so flaky and delicious. And,the insides were equally as fantastic! We even bought frozen ones to take home for dinner next week. The girl working was great.Super friendly and helpful. She said the owner is in every day at 3am making everything fresh. And, you can taste it! Highlyrecommend! Read more
