Stuffed potato was really good. Lots of butter sour cream cheese...all of it. Topped it off with chopped brisket. Staff is very... nice. The place is small though so keep that in mind, and its an old building but that kinda adds to its charm. My companionssaid the sides were very good...mac n cheese, green beans, potato salad and fries. I will definitely be back to try out theother meats. I had the three meats plate with baked potato topped with butter. The three meats were beef brisket, chicken, and pulled pork.... The portion of meats were very generous and the baked potato was very large. All three meats were delicious and cooked verywell. The service is good. I?ve heard so many good things about this place, so I finally tried it? I?ll never do that again. The brisket was cooked okay,... but was super salty. The baked potato casserole had so much pepper in it, that all I could taste was pepper. The fried okrawasn?t seasoned at all. The potato salad was nothing special. Incredibly cool place in the old city. Pretty much stepping back to a time where service was the key to success. This place is... a must see in the area. I mean seriously, how can you go to Mesquite, TX without going to Mesquite BBQ. This place is iconic.The plate lunches are definitely more than filling. Great sized portions, incredible tastes and the ambience and service areoff the charts. This place has one of the most deliciously smokey flavors that I've tried. Amazing barbecue joint in Mesquite. really friendly service, and good portion. We ordered the three meat platter and it filled... up two guys. also loved the decor inside, very retro. I especially recommend the mac & cheese. So creamy and tasty. for me thehighlight is the ribs and the brisket. Read more
Was referred by a friend who grew up around here and said it has always been one of the best kept secrets ind DFW? he was not... wrong. Juicy (but not greasy!) brisket and perfectly smoked ribs. Some of the best green beans I?ve had and well done mac. Worththe trip and I will be back! Read more
Good old fashioned place, been around since 1959. Small and cozy. BBQ is way above good. Delicious. Lots of sides. And... desserts. People there are country friendly, good folks. If you're looking for a special meal look them up, they're in MesquiteTx. Enjoy. Read more
