Went with family for a birthday celebration, I ordered etouffee and fried fish...excellent, just needed a little seasoning. ... My husband ordered the oyster poboy and loved it, along with the coleslaw ( he thought it was too sweet, but my son and I lovedit), my daughter in law ordered the seafood salad with ranch and it was awesome, my neice ordered the gumbo, but said it neededseasoning also. My son(birthday guy) ordered the stuffed crab, a side of etouffee, and a side of red beans n rice, said all wasgreat. I tried his stuffed crab and it was 100x better than store bought or other restaurants, could see the chunks of crab.Great flavor. Our server was over the top efficient and accommodating. Before I forget, it all started with boiled red potatoesand butter, delicious and 1/2 dozen BBQ oysters and 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters. Liked the garlic butter ones best. Read more

Traveled almost 5 hours to try this place. The one in New Orleans wait was extremely long so we drove to the Metairie location.... My husband is always a picky eater but I would eat or try anything. Well if I say it was not good then it was not good at all.We waited over an hour, after being set down to get food. There was absolutely no seasoning in the food. I paid $10 for boilshrimp that looked stringy and tortured. They almost didn't look like shrimps at all. The red beans and rice was awful. Iordered a boil soft shell crab and it looked like an oversized boiled cockroach. I could even put my mind together to try it. Myhusband catfish was hot and nasty. This is one of his favorite food and he left over half on his plate. We paid $75 on food thatwe was only able to consume $10 worth. We left and drove to a fast food joint. I hope this was just this particular day but I'llnever try them again. I will say that my Coke was good. Read more

This was a fantastic place with absolutely delicious food. Our waiter, Patrick, was the best. He was very knowledgeable about... the menu and gave great recommendations. We had the stuffed mushrooms and crawfish balls for appetizers. So delicious! I had theseafood gumbo and my husband had the seafood salad, we ate every bite. We highly recommend this restaurant. There's something to be said about the classics. Deanie's has been a constant in the New Orleans area food scene for as long as... I can remember and that's not a bad thing. Don't come in expecting fancy decor or a fresh new menu - but come for a true tasteof New Orleans all around. It's hard to have a bad experience here and should be on the list for any visit to the area! Read more

My experience was pleasant and the service was great! My family came in and our group of 7 was seated immediately. It was the... middle of the week so no large crowds. I enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms the most. Read more

An institution in Metairie, or so I'm told by my brother-in-law who is an aficionado, primarily because they can absolutely fry... up some seafood if that is your thing. I think the prices are a little high though, and the seafood gumbo was quite weak, almostno discernible pieces of seafood that I could find. Potatoes a nice touch. Crab stuffed shrimp tasty but greasy, dirty rice notgood at all. Tea was great, and I love the attached market. Read more
