Visited Don's Seafood for a post game meal with my boys. They really wanted Seafood and this seemed like the perfect place. The... restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived but we were able to be seated quickly. The service was very fast and the waiter wasvery attentive. He started us off with delicious buttered bread. We ordered shrimp, fried catfish, and red beans and rice.Everything was prepared well. We enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back for another visit. Read more

We just came for the OYSTERS ????Hostess didn't speak to us because she was on the phone but she did take us to our table. We... had a nice server. He kept our drinks filled. Food was excellent. It's been a few years since our last visit and the food didnot disappoint! Highly recommend Don's Jacked Up Oysters! Read more

This place has a nice location, good service, and good food. The place looks well themed and very pleasing lighting. The... slacking in between tables is nice and helps improve the experience. Service was effective, although not necessarily the best inthe area (New Orleans tends to have great service). Seafood and Cajun dishes are amazing. The Catfish Acadiana (pictured below)was amazing. However the other dishes such as pastas and meats suffered a little in quality. If visiting I would recommendgetting something marked as a specialty or favorite. Those dishes are the ones that excel. Other than that this place is a nicedinner and lunch experience in the New Orleans area. Read more

Food was excellent! I had the crabmeat au gratin, with the twice baked potato. Wife had the grilled salmon and sweet potato... casserole, my son had the Cajun ravioli. We also had the blackened alligator (tasted great!) and seafood spinach dip. All ofthem were excellent. I’d rank the spinach dip last of all the food items listed above. I’ve personally had better spinachdip, but that doesn’t mean this was not good. I just personally prefer my spinach dip or artichoke dip to contain a sharpercheese flavor like adding parmesan cheese with a touch of garlic. How and why 5 stars? First, our waiter was excellent andcordial. He even offered recommendations. Next, I did read reviews before ordering. So we opted to avoid food that had numerouspoor reviews like the oysters and seafood platter. We’re traveling and it’s our first time in Louisiana and didn’t want tomar it with poor food experience if avoidable. We’re happy we took the gamble! Last, we intentionally ordered things that werebeyond what was normal for us. Less expectations when trying something new, more to discover and appreciate without massivecomparison. Read more

Mr. Austin was an excellent waiter and provided the best service. We tried the Jacked Up Oysters, Catfish Acadian made special... (1 with blackened catfish and 1 with fried catfish on the side), and a brownie a la mode. The food is delicious and we made theclean plate club with our entrees. We’ve had better brownie a la modes so we wouldn’t order that again but everything elsewas yummy! We will be back to try other dishes. Read more

My boyfriend and I visited Don’s today for the first time. I was really excited because the menu sounds amazing. The hostess... were very friendly and the whole ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We were seated in a booth, the table was kind of dirty butI didn’t make a big deal of it. We started by ordering a appetizer and some drinks. The fried alligator was tasty. Thelemonade and sweet tea was not. It tasted like they used tap unfiltered water to prepare it. Very unpleasant tatste. I orderedthe seafood platter combo and my guy ordered the stuff fish. The food was not good at all. My seafood platter was not aplatter, I only received 2 fried oysters, 3 tiny pieces of fish, about 7 frozen shrimp, 1 stuffed shrimp. I was not pleased. Thestuffing on the shrimp was unappetizing, it tastes like stove top stuffing, no crab meat and no flavor. My guy also said thathis stuffing in his fish tasted the same. The gumbo was not good. No flavor. I’m disappointed ?? I told the server I did notlike my food. I guess he’s used to it because he just took the food and didn’t say anything else. Didn’t offer areplacement or apologize. Whatever though I won’t be returning. If you’re looking for fresh seafood this is not the placeyou’re looking for. Read more

We visited Don's on 2/27/22. There were 2 hostess. The friendly one walked away to assist someone. The couple before us was told... that there was a 30 minute wait by the other hostess. They decided that was too long and left. We walked up and the same hostesstold us 15 minutes. We gave our contact information and sat on the patio. Moments later the same hostess came outside and saidthat they were not seating on the patio. I was puzzled because we were just waiting to be called. The other people seated justignored her. It was about another 10 minutes, and we were notified by text that our table was ready. The same hostess showed usto our table. Our table was not clean, and there was a lot of trash in front of the table. I should have taken a photo, but Iwent to the restroom. We asked her if we could get the table and floor cleared. She said she would get it. My boyfriend askedher if it was a problem because she had an attitude. She said "No, we just have a party going on right now". The server cameover. He miss ordered, but he corrected it right away. Our food was okay. The drinks were better. This was my first visit atthis location. It just didn't go well. I normally go to the Lafayette locations.
