Very busy for a Tuesday evening. We were seated quickly and food came out quick. Prices were reasonable. Just not craving more -... like we usually do at other places - but overall not bad. "Non Vegetarian Assorted Snacks" appetizer: 5 stars (yummy) "NonVegetarian Dinner": 3.5 stars (dry) "Sheekh Kabab": 3.5 stars (dry) Sides/sauces were a little on the small side, naan wasdelicious Ambiance: 0 (explicit rap, no decor whatsoever, cafeteria trays/plates) Service: 3.5+, but not 4 (seemed rushed, butthey were busy. We asked a couple questions - answers were short & vague. Sides came out a bit after entrees, weren't told theywere coming at all) Read more

5-star: food and service. I highly recommend the vegetarian platter. It?s enough food for two people and it?s delicious. And... don?t be turned off by the slightly weird location? I found I had to park in the hotel parking lot that was next-door. I arrivedfor an early lunch? Was seated right away. The table service there is more like fine dining with someone constantly refilling mywater. I ordered the vegetarian dinner which seems to be available all the time. And I was going to stop there but it was sogood I ordered to go food as well. The vegetarian dinner includes: vegetables with and delicious light Sauce, Black lentils, spinach with cheese dish, rice, Indian bread and dessert. All for around $15. I purchased Rogan Josh and Karahi vegetable to go.They arrived at my table before I was even done sealed up with a large container of rice to a company. We ate them later after abusiness meeting and they two were fantastic? Well spiced and yes a little spicy. I do love that at the restaurant they alwaysasked how spicy you wanted your food before they prepared it. This will definitely be my Metairie favorite Indian place to goto. Read more

Let?s start with good points. The price was reasonable and the quality of the food was really good. Few of my friends had... recommended this place, so when I was at New Orleans I went there for dinner with my friends. We were so hungry that we orderedour food with no delay and the service was quick. Everyone loved the food but we all had few things in common which we hoped tobe better. First, there wasn?t enough salt and spices in the dishes which made all the food lose it taste to some extent and ittasted plain. I liked the vegetarian dishes more than the chicken dishes we ordered. Chicken 65 and Mantra Chicken was alright.Vegetable Manchurian tasted awesome. We ordered garlic naan and bullet naan but couldn?t differentiate it because they bothtasted the same. Vegetable curry with cauliflower, potato and other mix veggies was delicious. The service was good overall butfew servers weren?t responding to our questions which didn?t feel right. I don?t know if this should be mentioned but thesitting table seemed a bit tight, may be because we were four of us. If you are looking for Indian food but want it to be plainand simple this place would be perfect. Read more

First time at this place and it won't be the last. Its a small place and the service was quick with good prices. I tried the... Samosa,Aloo Tikki and the Sheekhkabab. I never had Indian food before so I took a chance and it pais off. Every thing had goodfull flavors and the spices used were out of this world. The kabab was the best thing I ordered and it was worth the 20 minutewait. You can taste the charcoal flavor from the pit these things were cooked over. The portion size for take out was worth whatyou spend. You are greeted at the door by the nice staff and placing a to go order was easy. There is a fully stocked bar whereyou can grab a drink while you wait on your order or table. Ill be making another trip to try out other menu items Read more

If you're looking for an excellent Indian restaurant in NOLA look no further. Mantra Indian Cuisine made by far the best Indian... food I've had in the US. The dishes were fantastic and it's obvious there was a lot of attention to detail from the taste to thelooks! The service was great and the atmosphere is calm and unique with a kitchen near the dining area. Don't get me started onthe garlic and cheese naans. Some of the best I've ever had. Together with the Lamb Pasanda Nawabi and Chicken Tikka Masala, wehad an amazing experience. Coming back here for sure! Read more
